    • Impactful game in win
Merrill went 3-for-4 with two steals and a run scored in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Merrill tallied at least three hits in a game for the fourth time this season and it was his 11th multi-hit game of his rookie campaign. Merrill hadn't swiped a bag since April 16 but managed to steal and eventually score in the fourth before taking another base in the eighth. He's settled in nicely thus far, slashing .282/.331/.374 with two homers, 16 RBI, 17 runs, six steals and a 10:23 BB:K in 143 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:00 pm

    • Another quality start Sunday
Flaherty (0-3) was tagged with a loss Sunday after he pitched 6.2 innings, surrendering three runs on seven hits while striking out seven batters in a 9-3 defeat to Houston.

Advice: Flaherty opened Sunday's contest by firing five scoreless innings before Kyle Tucker launched a two-run home run in the top of the sixth inning. The Astros scratched across another run on him in the seventh frame before the right-hander's day came to an end with two outs in the inning. The performance marked his third straight quality start and sixth of the season over eight outings. Flaherty now owns a 3.88 ERA and 1.05 WHIP with 63 strikeouts over 48.2 innings in eight starts in 2024 and will look to earn his first win of the year in his next projected start Saturday on the road in Arizona. • Mookie Betts collects two hits in loss to Padres
Mookie Betts went 2-for-4 with a double as the Dodgers were shut out by the Padres on Sunday afternoon in San Diego.

Advice: As a team, the Dodgers tallied just four hits in the contest, with Betts accounting for half of them on his own — including their lone extra-base knock. He smacked a one-out double off of Yu Darvish in the sixth inning but was left stranded there. He then singled off of Wandy Peralta with two outs in the eighth inning. The 31-year-old superstar is having another extraordinary season at the dish — slashing .339/.441/.539 with six homers, 27 RBI and eight stolen bases. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:36 pm

    • Three-run homer in loss
Castellanos went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Marlins.

Advice: Castellanos took Miami starter Braxton Garrett deep for a three-run shot in the top of the first inning, giving the Phillies an early 3-0 lead. The long ball was his fourth of the season and second homer in his last three contests. Castellanos has now secured at least one hit in eight consecutive games, batting .322 with two home runs, seven RBI, eight runs scored and a stolen base over 31 at-bats during that stretch. • Jackson Chourio goes 0-for-2 in return to lineup
After sitting out four straight games, Jackson Chourio went 0-for-2 with a walk in his return to the lineup Sunday against the Cardinals.

Advice: Chourio had a nicely hit liner, but it was caught by Brandon Crawford at short. The Brewers could have sent Chourio down last week, but they thought the break to work on things was a better idea. One imagines he’ll have to turn things around over the next 7-10 days in order to avoid a stint in Triple-A. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:46 pm

    • Jack Flaherty slips to 0-3 after quality start
Jack Flaherty yielded three runs in 6 2/3 innings Sunday in a loss to the Astros.

Advice: Still no breaks at all for Flaherty, who is 0-3 in spite of a 3.88 ERA. He really should have given up just two runs today, but Joey Wentz allowed an inherited runner to score from first after coming on with two outs against the bottom of the Astros lineup in the seventh. Flaherty has six quality starts in eight tries this season. Last year, he totaled eight in 27 starts for the Cardinals and Orioles. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:03 pm
    • Taking seat Sunday
Busch is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Busch had started each of the Cubs' first 10 games of May and the Pirates are bringing a lefty (Bailey Falter) to the hill Sunday, so Cubs manager Craig Counsell likely viewed it as an optimal time to give the 26-year-old the day off. Patrick Wisdom will check in for Busch at first base and bat fifth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:43 am

    • Michael Busch gets Sunday off vs. Pirates
Michael Busch is not in the lineup for Sunday’s tilt against the Pirates.

Advice: Busch will get a break against left-hander Bailey Falter and the Pirates for Sunday’s finale. Patrick Wisdom will instead start at first and hit cleanup against Falter and the Bucs. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:52 am

    • Jarren Duran hitting eighth against southpaw
Jarren Duran is hitting eighth and playing left field Sunday against the Nationals.

Advice: Duran normally hits leadoff for the Red Sox, and while he has gotten on at a .402 clip against southpaws in 2024, he’s picked up just one extra-base hit and slugged .302 against pitchers from that side. He’ll move down in the order with Romy Gonzalez hitting leadoff and handling shortstop duties. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:29 am
