    • Brandon Lowe’s exit ‘precautionary’ Friday at AAA
Brandon Lowe (oblique) made a precautionary exit from Friday’s minor league rehab game for Triple-A Durham.

Advice: Lowe appears to be fine, but the Rays didn’t want to take any chances with wet field conditions, which led to the veteran second baseman’s removal after just one at-bat during Friday’s contest. He’s gone 2-for-5 with a grand slam in a pair of rehab contests so far and figures to be ready to return to Tampa Bay’s lineup at some point next week. He’s been on the shelf since early April due to an oblique strain. Rotoworld 8 minutes ago

    • Rangers recall Grant Anderson on Friday
Rangers recalled RHP Grant Anderson from Triple-A Round Rock.

Advice: Anderson was summoned to re-join the Rangers’ relief mix ahead of Friday’s contest against the Rockies at Coors Field as the corresponding move for Josh Sborz landing on the injured list. The 26-year-old took the loss on Friday night in Colorado, allowing two runs in his lone inning of work in his return to the majors. Rotoworld 22 minutes ago
    • Royals option Daniel Lynch IV to Triple-A
Royals optioned LHP Daniel Lynch IV to Triple-A Omaha.

Advice: Lynch was shipped back to the minors prior to Friday’s contest against the Angels with Alec Marsh returning from the injured list. The 27-year-old lefty has reeled off seven scoreless frames over two appearances (one start) this season in the big leagues. He should be back in a couple weeks, if not sooner. • Drives in two
Gonzales went 1-for-4 with two RBI on Friday against the Cubs.

Advice: Gonzales was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis Friday and immediately entered the starting lineup, hitting fifth while starting at second base. He delivered a two-RBI single in the first inning but also struck out twice. Gonzales should have a chance to seize regular playing time as the Pirates continue to try to get their offense on track. • Appears in Complex League game
Marquez (elbow) threw a scoreless inning in an Arizona Complex League game Friday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Marquez has been making appearances in extended spring training, but this was another step forward in his recovery. He'll continue to ramp up before embarking on a rehab assignment, but he remains on track for a return in the middle of the season. Rotowire.com Today, 12:05 am

    • Still not throwing
Gilbreath (shoulder) has yet to resume throwing, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Gilbreath's return to the field has slowed as he recovers from Tommy John surgery, but the current issue is pain behind his left shoulder. Positively, he is showing progress in his rehab exercises. Rotowire.com Today, 12:02 am

    • Takes batting practice
Bryant (back) took batting practice prior to Friday's game against the Rangers, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Bryant began the session cautiously, just getting the ball out of the infield. However, he was able to pull the ball over the fence by his final swings, a positive sign for his recovery. There hasn't been a date set yet, but Bryant is expected to begin a rehab assignment soon. • Continues hitting well
DeJong went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and two runs scored Friday against the Guardians.

Advice: DeJong smacked his sixth home run of the season, three of which have come in his last four games. He's performed well in addition to the long balls of late, as he has at least one hit in eight of his last ten starts, and he's also chipped in six RBI and nine runs scored in that span. DeJong has taken over as the White Sox's primary shortstop, and he should continue to get playing time so long as he keeps hitting well. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:55 pm

    • Keeps flashing power
Lee went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored Friday against the Guardians.

Advice: Lee took Carlos Carrasco deep in the seventh inning to tally his fourth home run of the season, three of which have come in his last 11 games. He's gone 11-for-33 overall in that span, also chipping in five RBI and four runs scored. Lee remains in a near even split for playing time with Martin Maldonado behind the plate.
