    • Ryne Nelson shuts down Dodgers over five innings
Ryne Nelson tossed five shutout innings with five strikeouts in a win over the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Advice: Brandon Hughes had recorded the first two outs of the game as the opener. Nelson came in for the final out and shut down the Dodgers over five frames, scattering five hits and three walks with five strikeouts to earn the win. The 26-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 6.03 ERA, 1.83 WHIP, and a 28/10 K/BB ratio across 34 1/3 innings. His next outing should come against the Rangers in Texas next week. • Jalen Beeks blows save in Oakland
Jalen Beeks allowed one run in the ninth inning to blow the save chance against the Athletics.

Advice: Beeks was summoned to close out the game with a one-run lead in the ninth inning. A single and a walk put a runner in scoring position with two outs before Zack Gelof knocked a base hit to drive in the game-tying run. Beeks was able to keep the game tied to send it to extras. The 30-year-old left-hander is now 4-for-6 in save chances with a 2.42 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and a 16/12 K/BB ratio across 22 1/3 innings. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:53 pm
    • Austin Gomber holds A’s to one run over eight
Austin Gomber tossed eight innings of one-run ball with six strikeouts in a no-decision against the Athletics on Wednesday.

Advice: Gomber was excellent against the A’s, holding them to one run over eight innings of work. The one mistake was a solo homer by JJ Bleday in the fourth inning. Gomber scattered four more hits and struck out six batters with no walks allowed. He was saddled with a no-decision after a blown save in the ninth. The 30-year-old left-hander will take an impressive 2.76 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and a 41/17 K/BB ratio across 58 2/3 innings into a start against the Guardians in Colorado on Monday. • Mitch Spence goes three innings against Rockies
Mitch Spence allowed two runs with four strikeouts over three innings in a no-decision against the Rockies on Wednesday.

Advice: Spence served up a two-run homer to Elias Díaz in the first inning. He then loaded the bases before he was able to escape the inning. Spence loaded the bases once again in the third, but was able to keep the Rockies off the board. He was done after three innings at 70 pitches, scattering five hits and three walks with four strikeouts. The 26-year-old right-hander has a 4.09 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and a 30/11 K/BB ratio across 33 innings. He’s in line for a start against the Rays in Tampa Bay on Tuesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:51 pm
    • Picks up fourth win
Walker (4-2) pitched a perfect inning and struck out one, earning the extra-inning win over the Pirates on Wednesday.

Advice: Walker kept the game tied in the ninth inning, and the Giants' offense exploded in the 10th to make him the pitcher of record. The right-hander has stumbled a little recently, allowing two runs over his last five innings, but he also has a 7:0 K:BB and three holds in that span. Walker is getting the job done with a 2.42 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 36:4 K:BB over 26 innings this season. He's added seven holds and one blown save while not seeing a lot of late-inning work, but his elite strikeout numbers make him an interesting option in all NL-only formats and some deeper mixed leagues as well. • Picks up third win
Gaddis (3-1) allowed a hit and struck out three without walking a batter over 1.1 innings to earn the win over the Mets on Wednesday.

Advice: Gaddis was the beneficiary of the Guardians' comeback push Wednesday, picking up his second win in five outings. The right-hander hasn't allowed a run over 9.1 innings in May while adding a 7:1 K:BB, two wins and four holds for the month. He's thriving in a high-leverage role in his first year as a full-time reliever, posting a 1.85 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 24:4 K:BB with 11 holds and three blown saves over 24.1 innings this season. • Struggles versus Blue Jays
Nastrini (0-3) allowed nine runs (eight earned) on seven hits and six walks while failing to record a strikeout over 3.1 innings, taking the loss Wednesday versus the Blue Jays.

Advice: It was a second poor outing in three appearances this season for the rookie right-hander. He did fine in the first inning, but the Blue Jays struck back hard in the second and added two more runs to his line in the fourth. Nastrini has an 11.91 ERA, 2.56 WHIP and 8:13 K:BB over 11.1 innings this season. It's possible the White Sox try to let Nastrini learn on the job in the majors now that Brad Keller has elected free agency after being designated for assignment Sunday. If Nastrini gets another start, it's projected to be a rematch versus the Blue Jays in Chicago. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:03 pm
    • Sent to Seattle
The Orioles traded Baumann and Michael Perez to the Mariners on Wednesday in exchange for Blake Hunt.

Advice: The 28-year-old righty was squeezed off the Orioles' 40-man roster Saturday to make room for Grayson Rodriguez, and Baumann will now find a new home in the Mariners' bullpen. He sports a 3.44 ERA and 1.47 WHIP alongside a 16:9 K:BB through 18.1 frames and should settle in as a middle reliever. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:47 pm
    • Mariners acquire Mike Baumann from Orioles
Mariners acquired RHP Mike Baumann and C Michael Perez from the Orioles for C Blake Hunt.

Advice: Baumann had been designated for assignment by the Orioles on Saturday when they needed to free up a spot on their 40-man roster. Now, he’ll head to Seattle where he’ll function as extra bullpen depth for the Mariners. The 28-year-old hurler posted a 3.44 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and a 16/9 K/BB ratio over 18 1/3 innings in 17 appearances with the O’s this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:45 pm
