      Corbin Carroll knocked in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning Thursday to help the D-Backs to a 5-4 win over the Reds.

      Advice: In what has been a very disappointing season for Carroll, the 23-year-old came up big Thursday with an RBI single to score Tucker Barnhart that broke a 4-4 tie and ultimately gave Arizona the victory. The 23-year-old was one of the best fantasy players regardless of age, and while his .206/.300/.270 slash is anything but ideal, there’s obvious reasons to believe he’ll bounce back considerably in the summer months.     • Lifts homer in win
      Santander went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Wednesday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the Nationals.

      Advice: Santander is hitting just .227 over seven games in May and batting .215 on the year, but he has a homer in two of his last three contests. The outfielder has added a .737 OPS through 35 games this season, though that's still a decent margin behind last year's .797 mark. Santander is up to six homers, 24 RBI, 18 runs scored, nine doubles, one triple and no steals through 147 plate appearances while holding down a starting role in right field.     • Takes seat Wednesday
      Lowe is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

      Advice: The White Sox are bringing a right-hander (Chris Flexen) to the mound, but Lowe has been far more effective against lefties (.314 wOBA) than righties (.372 wOBA) for his career, which likely explains why the lefty-hitting Lowe is on the bench.       Kelenic went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Red Sox.

      Advice: His third-inning shot off Kutter Crawford got Atlanta on the board, and gave Kelenic his first long ball of the season. Despite the lack of power, the 24-year-old has generally been hitting well in his strong-side platoon role, slashing .280/.333/.373 in 81 plate appearances. Only one of those PAs has come against a southpaw, but with Adam Duvall scuffling so far (.220/.310/.380 in 58 PAs), Kelenic might get more opportunities against same-handed pitching if he heats up.       Chisholm went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Dodgers.

      Advice: Chisholm wasted no time getting the Marlins on the board, sending the first pitch of the game deep to right field for his fifth home run of the year. With Luis Arraez shipped off to San Diego, Chisholm has now batted leadoff in each of the last three games, going 5-for-12 with two RBI, four runs and three steals. Chisholm is expected to remain in the leadoff role on a regular basis against right-handed pitching, per Christina De Nicola of MLB.com.       Carroll went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer and five total RBI in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Reds.

      Advice: Carroll looked back at home in the leadoff spot Tuesday -- a season-opening slump had lowered him to the bottom third of the order the last two weeks. After driving in two runs early in the game, the 23-year-old outfielder broke the game open with a three-run homer off the left-handed Justin Wilson in the seventh inning, his second long ball of the year and first since April 9, extending Arizona's lead to 5-0. After a brutal start to the season, it looks like Carroll may be starting to turn things around at the plate -- he now has at least one hit in six of his last seven contests, going 8-for-27 in that span.       Jarred Kelenic went 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBI in the Braves’ win over the Red Sox on Tuesday.

      Advice: It took 73 at bats for Kelenic to finally hit his first homer of the season. His two-run blast in the third gave the Braves an early 2-0 lead, but the Red Sox would battle back before the Braves finally went up 4-2.     • Corbin Carroll homers, drives in five 5 in win
      Corbin Carroll went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run and five RBI in a win over the Reds on Tuesday.

      Advice: This was a much-needed big game for Carroll, who is still slashing just .211/.300/.278 on the season with two home runs and 12 RBI. The home run was well-struck at 104.3 mph off the bat and traveling 390 feet. While that’s great, it was the only ball on the day that Carroll hit over 87 mph. It doesn’t make sense to trade Carroll away while his value is so low, but we’ll need to see more consistent quality contact before we can be sure he’s fully healthy or ready for a hot stretch. However, it is nice to see him back to hitting leadoff, which would be important for his fantasy value. Rotoworld Tuesday, 6:29 pm

      Carroll will start in center field and bat leadoff in Tuesday's game in Cincinnati.
