      Wacha (2-4) picked up the win over the Angels on Thursday, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits and five walks over six innings. He struck out six.

      Advice: Wacha produced three 1-2-3 innings and mostly avoided trouble up until the seventh when he allowed three runs to come across for the Angels. The right-hander issued a season-high five walks on the night, with the latter two sending runs home for Los Angeles. However, Wacha was still able to get through six innings for the first time in his last four starts while recording his first win since April 6 against the White Sox.       Blanco (4-0) earned the win over the Yankees on Thursday, allowing two runs on four hits and four walks while striking out five batters over 5.2 innings.

      Advice: Blanco was a bit shaky with his control, as he threw just 62 of 107 pitches for strikes and tied a season high with four free passes. However, he allowed just one extra-base hit -- an Anthony Volpe two-run homer that accounted for both runs against him. Blanco thus improved his perfect record to 4-0 on the season, and he's allowed three or fewer runs in all seven of his starts. He's also recorded five quality starts on the campaign, falling one out shy in each of his two outings during which he hasn't met that mark.       Michael Wacha picked up a win Thursday after allowing three runs — two earned — in six innings against the Angels.

      Ronel Blanco allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings on Thursday in a win over the Yankees.

      Advice: Blanco generated 13 swinging strikes, and finished with five strikeouts, but also battled control issues throughout this one, handing out four free passes as well. He managed to limit New York’s formidable lineup to just a two-run homer by Anthony Volpe into the middle innings, which was enough to hang on for his fourth win of the year. He’ll carry a sparkling 2.23 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 41/20 K/BB ratio across 44 1/3 innings (seven starts) into an extremely favorable matchup on Tuesday against the Athletics.       Gilbert (3-1) took the loss Thursday against the Twins, allowing eight runs on nine hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out four.

      Advice: Five of Minnesota's runs came in the first inning, including three on a Manuel Margot double. Gilbert hadn't allowed more than two earned runs in his last five starts, recording quality starts in six of his previous seven outings. His ERA went from 1.69 to 2.94 after Thursday with a 0.94 WHIP and 54:15 K:BB across 52 innings.       Logan Gilbert was shelled for eight runs in four innings while picking up a loss to the Twins on Thursday.

      Advice: Gilbert allowed nine hits with two walks while adding for strikeouts. To say the right-hander was a disappointment was an understatement, as he entered this outing with a sensational 1.69 ERA over 48 innings. That ERA immediately took a hit with five runs allowed in the first, and three more crossed the plate before ending his 91-pitch day. The Twins are on fire and Gilbert was due for a poor outing, but this is still not one fantasy managers could have seen coming. He’ll be back on the bump against the Royals on Tuesday.       Pivetta (1-2) took the loss Wednesday against Atlanta, allowing five runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out one over four innings.

      Advice: Pivetta got off to a rough start, allowing back-to-back home runs with two outs in the first inning to put the Red Sox in an early 4-0 hole. The right-hander would allow another long ball in the third, the second homer from Marcell Ozuna on the night, and would make it through only four frames while surrendering a season-high five runs. The seven hits and three home runs allowed also marked season highs for the veteran. He'll look to get back on track next week when Boston takes on the Rays at home.     • LIfted in ninth inning again
      Kimbrel was pulled in the ninth frame of Wednesday's game against the Nationals and was charged with two runs on two walks and a hit over two-thirds of an inning, though he was credited with a hold.

      Advice: Kimbrel was called upon to protect a two-run, ninth-inning lead and initially appeared set to do so with little trouble, as he retired the first two batters he faced. However, Eddie Rosario then tagged the veteran closer for a solo home run, and Kimbrel followed with two straight walks before he was given the hook. Keegan Akin allowed one of the inherited runners to score, thus sending the game into extra frames. Though Kimbrel was credited with a hold, he was pulled in a save situation in the ninth inning for his second straight outing, so his hold on the closer role for Baltimore could be getting tenuous. Over his past five contests, Kimbrel has blown two saves in addition to being pulled from a save situation on two occasions, and he's allowed six earned runs while posting a 4:7 K:BB across 2.1 innings during that stretch.     • Craig Kimbrel blows another save against Nationals
      Craig Kimbrel suffered his third blown save of the season on Wednesday night, giving up two runs on a hit and two walks while recording just two outs.

      Advice: The 35-year-old right-hander has not pitched well since dealing with back soreness, and perhaps the Orioles want to consider a stint on the injured list to sit him down and get him right. Kimbrel came on with a 3-1 lead in the ninth inning of this one and got the first two hitters in order, but then served up a solo homer to Eddie Rosario and then walked a pair of batters before turning the ball over to Keegan Akin who allowed a game-tying RBI single to CJ Abrams. Kimbrel now sports an unappealing 4.73 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and a 21/9 K/BB ratio over 13 1/3 innings of work on the season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:41 pm
