    • Josh Hader strikes out two in save vs. White Sox
Josh Hader struck out two while firing a scoreless frame to get a save against the White Sox on Thursday.

Advice: Even with the two strikes, Hader needed just 14 pitches — 12 of those strikes — to get the save. The left-hander has now 11 in his first season as a member of the Astros, and he’s been much better than his 3.78 season ERA might indicate. Rotoworld Thursday, 2:04 pm

    • Luis Castillo struggles in start vs. Guardians
Luis Castillo gave up five runs in five innings against the Guardians on Thursday while picking up a loss.

Advice: Castillo allowed eight hits and two walks while striking out four. He gave up two homers in the outing; a solo blast by Will Brennan, and a two-run shot to Andres Gimenez in the fifth. It’s a disappointing outing for the right-hander, and it’s the second time in three outings he’s given up five runs in as many frames. Expect Castillo to bounce back next week against the Rays in Tampa. Rotoworld Thursday, 12:38 pm
    • Nails down 21st save
Finnegan struck out two in a perfect ninth inning Wednesday to record his 21st save of the season in a 3-1 win over Arizona.

Advice: The right-hander breezed through the Diamondbacks' 5-6-7 hitters on 14 pitches (11 strikes) en route to his eighth straight successful conversion. Finnegan has put together the best first half of his career with a 1.72 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 33:10 K:BB through 31.1 innings, but if the Nats fall out of the wild-card picture, he figures to become one of the team's biggest trade chips given that he has just one more year of arbitration eligibility in 2025 before reaching free agency. • Records 10th save
Hader allowed one hit in a scoreless inning while striking out one batter to earn a save against the White Sox on Wednesday.

Advice: It was a relatively easy outing for Hader, who entered in the ninth with Houston ahead by three runs. The veteran closer allowed a one-out single but was never in serious trouble. Hader has converted all 10 of his save chances since blowing his first opportunity of the campaign April 2 versus Toronto. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:57 pm

    • Remains perfect in save conversions
Yates earned a save against the Mets on Wednesday, striking out one batter in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Yates protected a two-run Texas lead in the top of the ninth frame, retiring the side in order on 16 pitches. The veteran reliever is a perfect 11-for-11 in save chances this season -- no closer in baseball has converted more saves without blowing any opportunities. Yates hasn't given up more than one run in any of his 26 appearances, leading to a superb 1.03 ERA. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:28 pm

    • Strong again in loss
Anderson (6-7) allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out five over seven innings to take the loss versus the Brewers on Wednesday.

Advice: Anderson held an opponent to one run for the sixth time in his last seven starts, but a lack of run support from the Angels stuck him with another loss. In that seven-start span, he's walked at least three batters four times and hasn't struck out more than five batters in any outing. The southpaw is at a 2.48 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 63:41 K:BB through 94.1 innings through 15 starts this year. Anderson is projected to make his next start at home versus the Athletics. • Tyler Anderson goes seven strong in loss to Brewers
Tyler Anderson held the Brewers to one run with five strikeouts over seven innings in a loss on Wednesday.

Advice: Anderson would take a tough-luck loss in this one as the Angels could get him no run support against Freddy Peralta. He allowed just one run on a sacrifice fly in the first inning before settling in for six more scoreless frames, striking out five. The 34-year-old left-hander will take a 2.48 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and a 63/41 K/BB ratio across 94 1/3 innings into a start against the Athletics in Anaheim on Wednesday. • Kirby Yates secures 11th save
Kirby Yates pitched a clean ninth inning with a strike out in a win over the Mets on Wednesday.

Advice: Yates worked a pain-free ninth after struggling on Tuesday against this same Mets lineup in a tie game. He’s been one of the best closers in the league since earning the role in April with a sterling 1.03 ERA and 0.91 WHIP. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:53 pm

    • Josh Hader locks down 10th save Wednesday
Josh Hader tossed a scoreless ninth inning with one strikeout to record the save against the White Sox on Wednesday.

Advice: Hader was summoned to close out the game with a three-run lead in the ninth against the White Sox. He worked around a base hit, striking out one batter to end the game with his tenth save of the season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:43 pm
