    • Improves to 5-0 in win Saturday
Suarez (5-0) earned the victory over San Diego on Saturday, allowing one run on three hits and no walks while striking out eight batters over eight innings.

Advice: Suarez's scoreless inning streak came to an end at 32.2 frames when Eguy Rosario touched him up for a solo homer in the eighth inning, but that did little to take away from another dominant effort. The left-hander posted his fifth straight quality start, and he's struck out exactly eight batters in three of those outings. Suarez has been among the league's best pitchers in the early part of the season -- he's tied for the MLB lead with five wins, leads all qualified pitchers with a minuscule 0.63 WHIP and ranks fourth with a 1.32 ERA. • Suárez finally allows run, still gets win vs. SD
Ranger Suárez gave up a run in eight innings of work with eight strikeouts to pick up a win over the Padres on Saturday.

Advice: Suárez entered Saturday with 25 consecutive scoreless innings, and that streak ended in the eighth when Eguy Rosario took the southpaw deep for a solo shot. That’s a little disappointing, but it’s another outstanding start for the 28-year-old, and he now possesses a 1.32 ERA for his trouble. We’ve seen Suárez have down periods after some flashes of brilliance, but to say he looks the part to begin 2024 is an understatement and then some. He’s a must-start against the Giants on Friday. • Picks up sixth save
Diaz pitched a scoreless two-thirds of an inning in Saturday's 8-4 win over the Rangers to record his sixth save of the season.

Advice: It didn't look like the closer's services would be necessary when the Reds took an 8-0 lead into the ninth inning, but Brent Suter served up back-to-back homers to Davis Wendzel and Corey Seager, and Diaz had to enter the game with one out and the tying run on deck. He was up to the task, needing seven pitches (five strikes) to get the final two outs. While his velocity remains down -- his fastball topped out at 94.0 mph Saturday -- Diaz is still getting results, converting six of seven save chances this season with a 3.27 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 11:6 K:BB through 11 innings. • Alexis Díaz locks down sixth save on Saturday
Alexis Díaz recorded two outs in the ninth inning to convert the save against the Rangers on Saturday.

Advice: The Reds entered the inning with an eight-run lead over the Rangers. Brent Suter nearly let it get away from them, allowing four runs in the frame. Díaz would come in with one out, two runners on, and the tying run on deck. He induced a quick pop out and a groundout to end the game with his sixth save of the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:56 pm
    • Picks up eighth save
Finnegan struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his eighth save of the season in a 3-1 win over the Marlins.

Advice: He needed only six pitches, all strikes, to dispatch the middle of Miami's order. Finnegan hasn't allowed an earned run yet in April, converting all seven of his save chances on the month with a 9:4 K:BB through 9.2 innings. Hunter Harvey, who collected his eighth hold Friday with a clean eighth inning, has been more dominant to begin the season and has a 19:2 K:BB through 13 innings. For now, though, Nats manager Dave Martinez is content to let him handle highest-leverage spots while Finnegan takes care of business in the ninth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:53 am
    • Picks up fourth save
Yates struck out two batters in a perfect ninth inning to earn the save in Friday's 2-1 win over the Reds.

Advice: Yates struck out Jonathan India and Jeimer Candelario to begin the ninth, giving him 13 punchouts in 11 innings out of the bullpen. The 37-year-old righty still has yet to allow a run this season, and he'll likely continue receiving the bulk of save opportunities as long as that remains the case. • Kirby Yates throws perfect ninth for save
Kirby Yates struck out two in a perfect ninth Friday for a save against the Reds.

Advice: It was Yates’ first appearance since his save Sunday. He threw 14 pitches tonight, so he should be available again Saturday. David Robertson could also be a threat for a save then, but Yates is the clear favorite in Texas right now. Rotoworld Friday, 11:22 pm

    • Notches second win
Ober (2-1) allowed two runs on three hits and three walks over 7.1 innings Friday, striking out eight and earning a win over the Angels.

Advice: Ober fired five shutout frames before the Angels broke through with a run in the sixth inning. After he was throttled for eight runs in his season debut, the 28-year-old righty has given up just four runs over his last four starts, dropping his ERA down to 4.21. He's also posted an impressive 24:6 K:BB through 24.1 frames over his last four outings. Ober is currently in line for a road matchup with the White Sox next week, in which he has a good chance of continuing to roll. Rotowire.com Friday, 9:59 pm

    • Nabs fourth win
Imanaga (4-0) earned the win Friday over the Red Sox, allowing one run on five hits and one walk across 6.1 innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: It was another strong outing from Imanaga, with Boston's lone run coming on a Tyler O'Neill solo homer in the fourth inning. It's safe to say the 30-year-old southpaw has exceeded expectations thus far -- Imanaga's yet to allow more than two earned runs in a start, and his ERA now sits at a stellar 0.98 with a 0.80 WHIP and 28:3 K:BB across five outings (27.2 innings). He's currently slated for a road matchup with the Mets in his next start. Rotowire.com Friday, 9:59 pm
