    • Enters starting lineup
Alexander started at shortstop, batted ninth and went 0-for-2 with a walk in Thursday's 5-4 win over Cincinnati.

Advice: Alexander made his first start in four games, as suspect defense kept his potentially productive bat (.845 OPS, .194 ISO) out of the lineup in favor of Kevin Newman (.525, .125). Alexander's bat has cooled off recently, as the rookie is 1-for-13 over the last seven contests. Rotowire.com Today, 4:53 am
    • Launches two-run homer
Singleton went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run against the Yankees in Thursday's 4-3 win.

Advice: Singleton's long ball was a first-inning, two-run shot that traveled an estimated 442 feet and gave the Astros a 3-0 lead. It was his fourth homer over a nine-game stretch that has helped him take over the starting role at first base that was made available when Jose Abreu was demoted to the minors. Singleton's recent playing time and power surge has put him on the radar in mixed fantasy leagues. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:26 pm
    • Goes deep in second straight game
Conforto went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Thursday in a loss to the Rockies.

Advice: Conforto accounted for San Francisco's only run with a solo shot to left field in the fourth inning. It was his second homer in as many days following a 12-game stretch without a long ball. Conforto's power has run hot and cold this season -- he went deep three times over his first five games of the campaign, then homered just twice over his subsequent 29 contests before his current two-game long-ball streak. • Slugs fourth homer
Doyle went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run, an additional run and a double in Thursday's 9-1 win against the Giants.

Advice: Doyle keyed a seven-run fourth inning for Colorado with a 430-foot, three-run blast to center field. The long ball ended a 21-game homerless stretch for the outfielder, and he had notched just one RBI over that span. Doyle has been one of the most productive hitters for Colorado this season, though, slashing .276/.317/.455 with four home runs and a team-leading 22 runs and four stolen bases. • Dairon Blanco homers, swipes two bags in victory
Dairon Blanco went 3-for-3 with a two-run homer, two steals and four runs scored as the Royals topped the Angels 10-4 on Thursday.

Advice: Blanco’s homer was his first, but his steals were his ninth and 10th in just 34 plate appearances this season. At this point, it certainly seems like he deserves a shot over the remains of Hunter Renfroe, and if he gets it, he’ll likely be an impact player in mixed leagues, thanks to his SB ability. He’s 38-for-44 stealing bases in 99 games as a major leaguer. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:45 pm
    • Lars Nootbaar homers in second straight contest
Lars Nootbaar drilled a solo homer on Thursday in the Cardinals’ loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Nootbaar went deep for the second straight contest during Thursday’s one-sided affair at American Family Field, taking Brewers starter Tobias Myers out to center field in the third inning for his third long ball of the season. The 26-year-old corner outfielder is batting just .186 (16-for-87) through 24 contests since returning from the injured list. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:24 pm
    • Bryan Ramos tallies two hits in White Sox’ win
Bryan Ramos went 2-for-4 Thursday, leading the White Sox to a 3-2 win over the Guardians.

Advice: It’s pretty remarkable that Ramos is excelling considering that he skipped Triple-A entirely to make the leap to the big leagues earlier this month. The 22-year-old prospect is off to a sizzling-hot start, batting .389 (7-for-18) with a pair of RBI through six contests. He doesn’t project as a significant fantasy contributor at this stage of his career, but he’s doing more than enough to show that he can hold his own right now in the majors. • Does fielding drills
Bryant (back) did infield drills and hit in the batting cage prior to the Rockies' game against the Giants on Wednesday, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.

Advice: Bryant has progressed slowly since landing on the injured list, and it has since been disclosed that he has disc and arthritis issues in his lower back. He took a step forward Wednesday, making his first participation in baseball activities since being sidelined. Manager Bud Black noted that Bryant will likely need a rehab assignment, meaning there's a good chance he won't be activated until at least late May. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:00 pm

    • Promoted to majors
Paris was recalled from Double-A Rocket City on Thursday.

Advice: With both Brandon Drury (hamstring) and Luis Rengifo (illness) sidelined, the Angels were shorthanded along the infield. Paris boasts enough defensive versatility to help the team in that regard, as he is capable of playing second base and shortstop as well as in the outfield. His ability to contribute as a hitter is far less clear, as he was striking out at a 39.1 percent clip across 92 plate appearances with Rocket City prior to his promotion.
