    • Freddie Freeman homers as Dodgers top Marlins
Freddie Freeman hit a solo homer in a victory Monday over the Marlins.

Advice: Freeman went back-to-back with Shohei Ohtani, and his solo blast gave the Dodgers a 3-2 lead. The 34-year-old hasn’t shown a ton of pop in the early portion of the year, as it’s just the third homer for the veteran first baseman in 2024. He’s hitting .292 with a .407 on-base percentage, however, and all of those numbers are sure to climb as we get deeper into the year. Rotoworld Monday, 9:30 pm
    • Report: Royals reached out to ask for Arraez
The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reports that the Royals contacted the Marlins last week to discuss trading for Luis Arraez before the infielder was dealt to the Padres

Advice: Rosenthal was quick to note that those talks “never advanced beyond the preliminary stage"; however, it’s interesting that the Royals even made the phone call because it tells us that the team is looking to capitalize on their fast start to the season which sees them just 2.5 games behind the Guardians in the AL Central. However, another interesting aspect of this is where the Royals may be looking to upgrade. Michael Massey has been pretty good at second base since coming off the IL and Vinnie Pasquantino is locked in at first base, so the Royals must have felt that Arraez could fill the DH spot, which means either Nelson Velazquez or Hunter Renfroe could be on notice in the midst of a slow start to the season. • Ready to go Sunday
Bohm (hip) is starting at third base and batting fifth Sunday against the Giants, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Advice: The 27-year-old was removed from Saturday's contest due to right hip tightness but is back in the starting nine a day later. Bohm has been one of the best hitters in baseball through the first five weeks of the season with a .364/.435/.579 slash line in 34 games. Rotowire.com Sunday, 1:11 pm

    • Four hits in team debut
Arraez went 4-for-6 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Arraez wasted no time in establishing a good first impression with his new team, smacking a leadoff double on the second pitch he saw from Brandon Pfaadt in the opening frame before coming around to score San Diego's first run of the contest. The newly acquired infielder would add another three singles on the night, with the latter one leading to an eight-run seventh inning for the Padres. It marked Arraez's second game this season with four hits, and he's now registered at least one knock in seven straight. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:32 am

    • Big day in extra-inning loss
Arenado went 3-for-3 with two walks and a three-run home run in Saturday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the White Sox.

Advice: The veteran third baseman took Erick Fedde deep in the fifth inning to give the Cardinals a 5-3 lead, but it didn't hold up. Arenado has recorded multiple hits in three of the last five games, and the surge has boosted his slash line on the season to .296/.362/.408 with two homers, 14 runs and 19 RBI through 33 contests. • Luis Arraez collects four hits in Padres debut
Luis Arraez had quite the night at the plate in his Padres debut on Saturday night, going 4-for-6 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI as the Padres walloped the Diamondbacks 13-1.

Advice: Arraez led off the game with a double off of Brandon Pfaadt, then raced around to score the Padres’ first run on an RBI single off the bat of Manny Machado. He singled in the third inning and then added an RBI single in the fourth inning. Arraez also led off the seventh inning with a single and scored on an RBI double by Machado. With the four-hit night, the 27-year-old infielder is now hitting .315/.359/.392 with six RBI on the season. Rotoworld Saturday, 8:07 pm

    • Expected to play Sunday
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Bohm (hip) will be reevaluated Sunday and expects the third baseman to be in the lineup versus the Giants, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Advice: Bohm was removed from Saturday's game versus the Giants with right hip flexor tightness, but his exit was considered precautionary and it sounds like he should be fine. The third baseman singled, was hit by a pitch and scored two runs before being lifted from Saturday's tilt. Rotowire.com Saturday, 7:52 pm

    • Alec Bohm (hip) expects to play on Sunday
Alec Bohm (hip) told reporters after Saturday’s game that he expects to return to the Phillies’ lineup on Sunday.

Advice: Bohm elaborated, saying “I’m good. I’ve played through much worse. It’s nothing really I’m concerned about.” Whether or not Phillies’ skipper Rob Thomson gives him that opportunity though, remains to be seen. Either way, it doesn’t sound like a trip to the injured list will be in the cards for the 27-year-old slugger. Rotoworld Saturday, 7:48 pm

    • Alec Bohm leaves game with right hip tightness
Alec Bohm was removed from Saturday night’s game against the Giants due to tightness in his right hip.

Advice: The Phillies are calling his early exit only a precautionary measure, and for the time being the 27-year-old third baseman is considered day-to-day. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to his status on Sunday though just to be on the safe side. Rotoworld Saturday, 6:04 pm
