Clay Holmes walks tightrope, but escapes with save
Clay Holmes walked the tightrope against the Dodgers in the ninth inning on Sunday, but managed to escape with a two-run lead intact to earn his 19th save of the season.
Advice: Holmes had no trouble getting the first two outs of the inning, but then he allowed singles to Gavin Lux and Enrique Hernandez to put the tying runs on base for Mookie Betts. He battled back though, getting Betts on a swinging third strike to close it out for the Yankees. The 31-year-old hurler has been outstanding this season, posting a 1.23 ERA and 29/8 K/BB ratio over 29 1/3 innings to go along with his 19 saves.
