    • Luis Castillo delivers eighth quality start
Luis Castillo threw six innings of two-run ball against the Astros on Tuesday.

Advice: It’s the fourth straight start in which Castillo has allowed exactly two runs. He hasn’t given up more than two earned runs since his third start of the year on April 8, and his ERA is down to 3.28. He’ll face the Angels next. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:01 pm
    • Zack Littell takes tough luck loss to A’s
Zack Littell allowed three runs (none earned) on five hits in seven innings in a loss to the Athletics on Tuesday.

Advice: Littell also struck out nine and walked just one. A Brandon Lowe fielding error got the sixth inning started, and after a walk, Littell was able to get two outs before giving up a three-run shot to Miguel Andujar. That was the difference in the game. The 28-year-old had a dominant performance from his splitter on Tuesday and rode it to a 31 percent whiff rate and 32 percent CSW overall. He’ll now take a 3.03 ERA into a showdown this weekend with the Orioles where he’ll be a risky option in fantasy leagues. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:48 pm

    • Gerrit Cole (elbow) to face hitters again Thursday
Gerrit Cole (elbow) will face hitters again on Thursday in a live batting practice session.

Advice: It’ll be the third time that Cole faces hitters as he continues ramping up his progression towards a potential June return to New York’s starting rotation. He’s presumably getting close to a minor league rehab start at some point in the near future, but the Yankees are clearly not rushing him back. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:12 pm

    • Tuesday's game postponed
Skubal won't start as scheduled Tuesday against the Pirates since the game has been postponed due to inclement weather, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The contest will be made up via a straight doubleheader Wednesday. The Tigers haven't officially announced their updated pitching plans, but Skubal should start one of those contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:12 pm

    • Pirates vs. Tigers postponed Tuesday due to rain
Tuesday’s game between the Pirates and Tigers has been postponed due to inclement weather.

Advice: It’s fitting that only Mother Nature herself could prevent fantasy managers from watching a highly-anticipated pitcher’s duel on Tuesday evening between Detroit ace Tarik Skubal and Pirates electrifying rookie Jared Jones. It’ll be made up as a doubleheader on Wednesday instead with Skubal and Jones squaring off in the opening contest of the twin bill. It’ll be dynamic top prospect Paul Skenes taking the ball in the nightcap affair. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:06 pm

    • Settles for no-decision Monday
King allowed one run on three hits and one walk while striking out seven batters over five innings in a no-decision against Miami on Monday.

Advice: King pitched very well in the outing, but San Diego wasn't able to put its second run on the board until the seventh frame, preventing him from picking up a second consecutive victory. The only run the right-hander allowed came on a third-inning homer by Jazz Chisholm. King has given up one or zero runs in three of his past five starts and has racked up a 34:8 K:BB across 30 innings over that span. He's tentatively slated to make his next start in Kansas City. • King strikes out seven in no-decision Monday
Michael King allowed one run in five innings and got a no-decision in the Padres’ 2-1 victory over the Marlins on Monday.

Advice: King allowed three hits, one walk and struck out seven. He left the game with the score tied after five innings. King’s ERA is now 4.09 on the season. His 74 strikeouts this year rank among the top 10 in all of baseball. The 29-year-old right-hander is set to face the Royals on the road this weekend.

    • Scratched from Monday's start
Gomber has been scratched from Monday's start against the Guardians due to general arm soreness, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Advice: Mmanager Bud Black implied that Gomber isn't dealing with an injury, and the decision to scratch the left-hander has more to do with the team wanting to hold him back for the team's upcoming series against the Dodgers this weekend. Anthony Molina will draw the start Monday for Colorado in what could be a bullpen day. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:16 am

    • Rehab start could come next week
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Saturday that there's a chance Cole (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment as soon as the upcoming week, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Cole threw a live batting practice session Saturday without issue, marking the second time he's faced hitters since he resumed a throwing program. According to Erik Boland of Newsday, Cole utilized all of his pitches in the simulated game and reached 95 miles per hour on his fastball, a velocity limit the Yankees had imposed on him prior to the throwing session as a matter of precaution. Cole could be asked to throw another live BP, but beginning a rehab assignment also appears to be on the table. Cole will need multiple rehab starts before returning from the injured list and joining the Yankees rotation, so he's still a few weeks away from making his 2024 debut with the big club.
