    • Ranger Suarez leaves start with left hand contusion
      Ranger Suarez was pulled from Saturday’s start against the Cardinals after being hit in the left hand by a comebacker.

      Advice: For now, the Phillies are calling it a left-hand contusion, so it sounds like the 28-year-old southpaw was fortunate to have avoided any serious injury. Prior to exiting, he had worked two perfect innings with a pair of strikeouts. It doesn’t sound like his next start should be in jeopardy, but fantasy managers should pay close attention to his status over the next couple of days just to be on the safe side.     • Ryan Weathers whiffs 11 in loss to Rangers
      Ryan Weathers struck out 11 but allowed four runs over six innings in a loss to the Rangers on Saturday.

      Advice: The 11 strikeouts are a season-high for Weathers, and it’s the second time he’s reached double digits in 2024. The punchouts are nice, but he also allowed nine hits and four runs, so this was a mixed effort at best from the 24-year-old.     • Joe Ryan gives up four homers in loss to Astros
      Joe Ryan gave up five runs over five innings while picking up a loss to the Astros on Saturday.

      Advice: Ryan gave up eight hits, which is not great, and five of those hits left the park, which is worse. The 27-year-old was coming off an outstanding start against the Royals on Monday. This was anything but. He also walked two and struck out four in one of the worst outings of the season for Ryan. Expect better things for the right-hander against Pittsburgh next week.     • Hit by comebacker
      Suarez was removed from Saturday's game against the Cardinals with a left hand contusion after being struck by a 106.1 MPH comebacker in the second inning, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Suarez didn't allow a baserunner and struck out two hitters over two innings.

      Advice: Early reports indicate that Suarez is only dealing with a bruised throwing hand after being hit by a comebacker off the bat of Alec Burleson on Saturday. After Suarez's two perfect innings, Jose Ruiz will take over on the mound. The Phillies will likely continue to evaluate Suarez throughout the evening to ensure that the injury is merely a contusion and nothing long term.     • Reese Olson hit for five runs in loss to Red Sox
      Reese Olson allowed five runs with five strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings in a loss to the Red Sox on Saturday.

      Advice: Olson surrendered a solo homer to Enmanuel Valdez in the second inning. Two base hits and a groundout would bring a second run in to score for Boston in the third. The Red Sox added a run in the fourth on a double and a sacrifice fly. Olson would pitch into the sixth before Valdez got to him again with a two-run blast. That would do it for the 24-year-old right-hander, ending his day with a 2.48 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and a 52/20 K/BB ratio across 61 2/3 innings.       Witt went 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 11-8 loss to the Padres.

      Advice: Witt had multiple hits in five of his last six games in May, adding seven RBI despite just two extra-base hits in that span. The shortstop hit .315 through the end of April and exactly matched that mark in May, showing excellent consistency.       Robert (hip) will serve as the designated hitter Sunday with Triple-A Charlotte and will be re-evaluated afterward to potentially be activated from the injured list, MLB.com reports.
