Mark Canha homers, knocks in two in win over Rays
Mark Canha went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, two RBI and scored two runs in Monday’s 7-1 win against the Rays.
Advice: Canha got the scoring started in the first frame when he hit a sinker from Zack Littell high in the zone that had 38 degrees of launch angle and went about six or seven rows deep into left field. In the fifth inning, the 35-year-old took advantage of another high pitch from Littell and dropped an RBI single into shallow left field to extend the Tigers’ lead to five. He only has a .247 batting average but he’s coming up clutch when men are on base with a .875 OPS — which if the season ended today, would be his highest mark since the 2018 season when he was with Oakland. There’s plenty of baseball to be played, so fantasy managers shouldn’t expect this type of consistent output, but it’s encouraging nonetheless.
