    • Kutter Crawford fans six in victory over Giants
Kutter Crawford delivered a strong performance in Wednesday night’s victory over the Giants, allowing two runs on four hits over his seven frames.

Advice: Crawford punched out six batters on the evening while surrendering a pair of free passes. He served up a solo homer to Tom Murphy leading off the third inning, then allowed an RBI bunt single to Mike Yastrzemski in the fourth inning. That was the extent of the damage against him. Crawford got 12 swings and misses on 92 pitches in the contest, six on his cutter, while registering a CSW of 29 percent. Now 2-1 on the season, he’ll carry a brilliant 1.56 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and a 40/13 K/BB ratio (40 1/3 innings) into a tough matchup against the Braves in Atlanta on Tuesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:03 pm
    • Juan Soto swipes two bases as Yankees defeat O’s
Juan Soto singled, walked and stole a pair of bases as the Yankees triumphed over the Orioles on Wednesday evening in Baltimore.

Advice: Soto smacked a one-out single off of Corbin Burnes in the top half of the first inning and swiped second base before being stranded there. He then worked a leadoff walk in the sixth inning, and once again nabbed second before being thrown out trying to steal third. On the season, the 25-year-old superstar is now hitting .325/.439/.575 to go along with eight homers, 25 RBI and four stolen bases. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:09 pm

    • Jo Adell strikes out four times Wednesday in loss
Jo Adell went 0-for-5 with four strikeouts on Wednesday in the Angels’ loss to the Phillies.

Advice: So much for the whole cutting back on strikeouts storyline. Adell appears to have made some legitimate strides in the plate skills department early on this season, but he looked a bit overwhelmed in this one as he fanned twice in three at-bats against Phillies ace Zack Wheeler before tacking on a pair of additional punch outs later in the contest. He’s been on a tear the last two weeks with three homers and two steals in 12 contests since April 17. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:08 pm
    • Sitting against southpaw Wednesday
Garcia is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Advice: With lefty Andrew Heaney on the hill for Texas, the lefty-hitting Garcia will move to the bench Wednesday. Ildemaro Vargas will pick up the start at second base in place of Garcia, who has now sat out three times -- all against southpaws -- in the last four games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:24 pm
    • Throws bullpen session
Bello (lat) threw a bullpen session Tuesday, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: It's his first time throwing off a mound since he was shut down last week with right lat tightness. Bello could throw a two-inning simulated game next, with a rehab outing potentially being on the docket for next Tuesday. If Bello needs just one rehab start, he could be in line to return from the 15-day injured list as soon as May 12. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:39 pm

    • Brayan Bello (lat) to make rehab start next week
Red Sox’ skipper Alex Cora told reporters on Wednesday that Brayan Bello (lat) will make a minor league rehab start early next week.

Advice: There had been some hope that Bello could jump right back into the Red Sox’ rotation without requiring a tune-up on the minor league side, but he’ll toe the slab at least once at Triple-A Worcester before making his triumphant return. Bello has been shelved since April 21 due to tightness in his right lat. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:25 pm

    • Homers again Tuesday
Soto went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Orioles.

Advice: Soto cut the Yankees' deficit to 4-2 in the sixth inning with a 447-foot blast of Dean Kremer, his eighth homer of the year. Soto extended his hitting streak to eight games -- he's gone 10-for-30 with three homers and a 1.099 OPS in that span. The 25-year-old outfielder has gotten off to a stellar start in New York, slashing .325/.432/.588 with 24 RBI, 22 runs scored and two steals through his first 31 games. • Set to start Wednesday's game
Montgomery is scheduled to start Wednesday's series finale against the Dodgers at Chase Field, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Montgomery had been in line to take the hill Tuesday, but the Diamondbacks ended up scratching him from the start after he had gone through a full warmup while a bee swarm near the netting at home plate forced a two-hour delay before the game finally got underway. The Diamondbacks opted for an impromptu bullpen game in the eventual 4-3 extra-inning win, and Montgomery and Arizona's other rotation members will all get pushed back one day in the pitching schedule as a result. • Timely hit in Tuesday's win
Machado went 1-for-5 with a three-run double in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Reds.

Advice: Machado stepped up to the plate in the fifth with the bases juiced and cleared them all with a double to center field. That was his first extra-base hit since April 14 and his first multi-RBI game since April 12. He's tallied a hit in four of his five games since being reinstated from the paternity list and is now slashing .250/.304/.388 with four homers, 16 RBI, 16 runs and a 9:29 BB:K in 125 plate appearances.
