    • Rebounds with win, quality start
Morton (4-3) earned the win over Tampa Bay on Saturday, allowing one run on three hits and two walks while striking out eight batters over six innings.

Advice: Morton had his swing-and-miss stuff working, racking up 22 whiffs among his 105 pitches. The veteran hurler fell behind by a run in the first inning but yielded only two hits while holding the Rays scoreless thereafter. This was a nice bounce-back for Morton after he surrendered five runs (four earned) over five innings against Washington in his previous start. Saturday's victory was his first since May 10, and it was just his second quality start across six outings during that span. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:19 pm
    • Charlie Morton has vintage performance in win
Charlie Morton allowed one run on three hits in six innings in a win over the Rays on Saturday.

Advice: Morton looked like his old self, striking out eight and walking two. He induced 22 whiffs on 49 swings for a ridiculous 45 percent whiff rate and 35 percent CSW. It was perhaps the 40-year-old’s best start of the season, and he’ll look to keep it going next week in a tough showdown against the Yankees. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:02 pm
    • Nails down 21st save
Clase struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his 21st save of the season in a 3-1 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: After catching Vladimir Guerrero looking on a third strike, Clase coaxed routine groundballs from Bo Bichette and Justin Turner to end the game. The right-hander has converted eight straight save chances, posting a 1.80 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 11:1 K:BB through 10 innings over that stretch, and Clase sits two back of the Cardinals' Ryan Helsley for the major-league saves lead. • Emmanuel Clase perfect in earning 21st save
Emmanuel Clase pitched a perfect ninth against the Blue Jays for his 21st save Friday.

Advice: Clase gave up single runs in his previous two appearances, but the Blue Jays didn’t threaten tonight. He had particularly good velocity in this one, averaging 100.9 mph with his cutter. That’s up 1.9 mph from his season mark. Rotoworld Friday, 7:13 pm
    • Nestor Cortes solid for seven against Royals
Nestor Cortes pitched seven innings of two-run ball in a no-decision against the Royals on Thursday.

Advice: Cortes turned in his best start in weeks, but he was still in line for the loss when he left. The Yankees offense did let him off the hook, but the Bombers still lost the game to fall to 6-9 in Cortes’s starts. It’s a bizarre figure, given that Cortes has been pretty good with his 3.59 ERA and the team is 43-13 when anyone else starts. Rotoworld Thursday, 2:27 pm

    • Goes seven strong in no-decision
Cortes allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out two over seven innings during Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Royals. He didn't factor in the decision.

Advice: Cortes ran into some trouble in the fourth inning with two runs allowed but otherwise kept Kansas City off the board, pitching deep into yet another start. This was his fifth outing this season of seven or more innings, which is tied for the second most in the American League. The two strikeouts tied for a season low, and the veteran lefty has now gone four straight starts without a win. He will take a 3.59 ERA into his next start, which lines up to come against the Orioles next week. Rotowire.com Thursday, 1:56 pm

    • Toughs out five scoreless frames
Bassitt gave up five hits and four walks over five scoreless innings in a no-decision Wednesday against the Brewers. He struck out five.

Advice: It didn't come easy for Bassitt, as he had to contend with the bases loaded in both the first and fourth innings, though he'd manage to escape unscathed. After a shaky start to the year, the 35-year-old Bassitt's been solid since the start of May, pitching to a 2.25 ERA over his last eight outings. Overall, he's 6-6 with a 3.56 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 75:32 K:BB across 78.1 innings this season. Bassitt is currently in line to face the Red Sox at home in his next outing. • Earns fourth straight win
Lodolo (7-2) earned the win against the Guardians on Wednesday, allowing two runs on seven hits and three walks with six strikeouts over six innings.

Advice: After retiring the first three batters he faced, Lodolo had traffic on the bases all night but limited the damage to just two runs. Lodolo even hit two batters, but he was able to battle for his fourth consecutive win and third straight quality start. Despite two stints on the injured list, Lodolo has had a huge bounceback season and now owns a 2.93 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 62:15 K:BB through 10 starts. He tentatively lines up to face the Pirates next Monday. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:07 pm

    • Nick Lodolo beats Guardians to earn seventh win
Nick Lodolo picked up his seventh victory of the season on Wednesday, limiting the Guardians to just two runs on seven hits over his six innings of work.

Advice: The 26-year-old southpaw struck out six batters on the evening while issuing three free passes. Lodolo walked David Fry with the bases loaded in the third inning to force in a run, then they scratched out a second run as Andres Gimenez bounced into a fielder’s choice in the fifth inning. Lodolo got 13 swings and misses on 102 pitches in the ballgame, registering a CSW of 23 percent. Now 7-2 on the season, he’ll look to keep the good times rolling as he brings a 2.93 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and a 62/15 K/BB ratio (58 1/3 innings) into Tuesday’s showdown against the Pirates in Pittsburgh.
