    Advice: Gelof temporarily tied the score with his two-run shot off Seth Lugo in the seventh inning. After a slow start to the season, the second baseman has perked up with the bat of late, going deep in each of his past three contests and driving in seven runs across his past four games.     Zack Gelof went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run against the Royals on Thursday.

    Advice: Gelof’s home run was his eighth of the season and his third consecutive game with a home run. He’s still just hitting .202 on the season, but the power is starting to show up. Though he opened the season in a utility role, Castro has solidified an everyday role thanks to his positional versatility and solid production at the plate. Austin Martin will enter the lineup at second base in place of Castro, who has been dialed in of late with a .368/.429/.605 slash line to go with one home run, six doubles, one stolen base, nine runs and four RBI over his last nine starts.     Advice: Gelof has homered in back-to-back games and has hit four of his seven long balls this year in June. The second baseman has gone 8-for-29 (.276) over his last eight contests. For the season, he's at a .196/.250/.348 slash line with 19 RBI, 21 runs scored and eight stolen bases, though hitting at or near the bottom of a weak lineup is unlikely to do any favors for his counting stats.     Advice: Gelof’s only hit of the day left the yard as he took Dan Altavilla deep for a solo shot in the eighth inning to extend the Oakland lead. It was Geldof’s second homer in as many days.     Willi Castro doubled twice and finished with three RBI on Tuesday, leading the Twins to a 7-6 victory over the Rays.

    Advice: Castro put Minnesota ahead briefly in a topsy-turvy marathon at Target Field with a bases-clearing double in the fourth inning off Rays starter Aaron Civale. He also recorded another double and walked in this one, reaching base safely in three of his five plate appearances out of the leadoff spot.     Advice: Gelof took Alec Marsh deep in the fourth inning to provide the Athletics with enough offense to weather the Royals' comeback attempt. This was Gelof's third multi-hit effort in his last seven games, though the homer was his first since June 5. The second baseman is starting to put together better at-bats, but he's still at a .195/.250/.335 slash line with six homers, 18 RBI, 20 runs scored and eight stolen bases over 54 contests this season. He snapped a 33-game homerless drought, during which he slashed .155/.250/.191. Turner now owns a .691 OPS with 18 extra-base hits and 24 runs scored through 233 plate appearances.
