• Cranks homer Thursday
Santander went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run and a walk in Thursday's 17-5 win over the Yankees.

Advice: Santander has gone 8-for-25 (.320) with five homers and 11 RBI over his last six games. The outfielder is up to 19 homers on the year, with 10 of them coming in June. He's slashing .230/.304/.502 on the year while adding 48 RBI, 42 runs scored and 13 doubles over 70 contests. Santander's finished below a .260 batting average in each of the previous three seasons, so it's not unusual for him to make most of his impact with power. Rotowire.com 33 minutes ago

  • Santander belts 19th home run Thursday
Anthony Santander went 2-for-5 with a walk and a three-run home run against the Yankees on Thursday.

Advice: Santander’s home run was his 19th of the season. He’s hit a ridiculous 10 home runs in 19 games in June. Santander’s hitting .230 with a .806 OPS and 48 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Today, 4:36 pm

  • Jasson Domínguez out two months with oblique strain
According to Yankees manager Aaron Boone, Jasson Domínguez will miss up to eight weeks with an oblique strain.

Advice: We knew an oblique strain would keep Domínguez out for at least a couple weeks, but this is an extensive period of time and one that could threaten his ability to contribute big-league at-bats this season. If Domínguez doesn’t return to minor league action until late August and then gets a couple of weeks to get his timing back at Triple-A, it would be September even before the Yankees can think about promoting him. If all goes well, he could be a candidate for a mid-September call-up, but the Yankees would then be thrusting him into a major role in the middle of a pennant race after missing a major chunk of time. It’s a shame because he was looking great after Tommy John surgery, hitting .356/.404/.609 with six homers and 13 RBIs in 23 games across three levels. Rotoworld Today, 12:05 pm

  • Out eight weeks at Triple-A
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Thursday that Dominguez will be out for up to eight weeks at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre due to a "significant" left oblique strain, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Advice: Boone labeled Dominguez's oblique strain as "moderate" Wednesday, but the injury now appears to be more severe than the Yankees initially believed. The 21-year-old outfielder already missed the first two-plus months of the Triple-A season while recovering from Tommy John surgery, and an eight-week return timeline will keep him out of action until at least mid-August. • Plates pair in Wednesday's win
Rooker went 2-for-3 with two RBI singles and a walk in a win over the Royals on Wednesday.

Advice: Rooker's timely hitting led to two of the Athletics' five runs, with the veteran driving home JJ Bleday in the third and seventh innings with his pair of singles. Rooker has now hit safely in eight of his last 10 games, but a 42.9 percent strikeout rate has helped lead to a lackluster .211/.262/.368 slash line in that same span. • Long starting streak comes to end
Castro is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rays.

Advice: For the first time since April 15, Castro will head to the bench, ending a streak of 59 consecutive starts. Though he opened the season in a utility role, Castro has solidified an everyday role thanks to his positional versatility and solid production at the plate. Austin Martin will enter the lineup at second base in place of Castro, who has been dialed in of late with a .368/.429/.605 slash line to go with one home run, six doubles, one stolen base, nine runs and four RBI over his last nine starts. • Nursing moderate oblique strain
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Wednesday that Dominguez is dealing with a moderate left oblique strain, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Dominguez was injured on a check swing Saturday while playing for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The Yankees haven't yet established a timeline for Dominguez's return to game action, but it wouldn't be a surprise if a moderate oblique strain resulted in at least a month-long absence. Dominguez began the season on the Yankees' 60-day injured list as he continued his recovery from Tommy John surgery. He's hit .389/.405/.639 with two home runs in nine games during his time with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:23 pm

  • Dominguez dealing with moderate oblique strain
Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone told reporters on Wednesday that Jasson Dominguez is dealing with a moderate oblique strain.

Advice: While Boone didn’t give any sort of timeline for the top prospect’s return, expect that it’ll be longer than just a couple of weeks. It’s unfortunate, as the dynamic 21-year-old outfielder was crushing it at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and had been on the cusp of breaking through to the big leagues once again. • Remains out Wednesday
Friedl (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: He'll take a seat for the second day in a row while he recovers from a tight hamstring, which he sustained while making a diving catch in the fifth inning of Monday's 4-1 loss to Pittsburgh. The Reds seem to be viewing Friedl as day-to-day, but a trip to the injured list could become more realistic if he isn't ready to play coming out of Thursday's off day. Friedl's absence Wednesday will open up a spot in the outfield for Stuart Fairchild. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:31 am
