• Not playing in All-Star Game
Correa (heel) was removed Monday from the American League All-Star Game roster and was replaced by the Rangers' Corey Seager, the Associated Press reports.

Advice: Though Correa is still expected to attend All-Star festivities in Arlington, Texas this week, his removal from the roster comes as little surprise after he missed the Twins' final two games before the break due to plantar fasciitis in his right heel. Dan Hayes of The Athletic relays that Correa's latest case of plantar fasciitis isn't as severe as his bout with the injury to his left foot during 2023 season, but it's not yet clear whether Correa will be back in action when the Twins return to action Saturday versus the Brewers. • Launches grand slam
Gelof went 1-for-5 with a grand slam Sunday against the Phillies.

Advice: Gelof's ninth-inning grand slam was the eighth and final long ball of the day for Oakland and put a rubber stamp on an 18-run outburst for the A's. It was the second consecutive game with a homer for Gelof, who has now hit seven over the past 23 games and is up to 12 on the season. Rotowire.com Sunday, 11:25 pm

  • Clubs homer in win
Santander went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a triple in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Yankees.

Advice: Santander is 13-for-46 (.283) with five extra-base hits and three RBI over 12 contests in July. It was always reasonable to expect that he'd take a step back in the power department after slugging 13 homers in June. For the season, the outfielder is slashing .237/.301/.503 with 24 long balls, 58 RBI, 49 runs scored, 16 doubles and two triples over 91 games. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:54 pm

  • Fans seven in loss
Lively (8-5) yielded two runs on three hits and two walks over 5.1 innings Sunday, striking out seven and taking a loss against the Rays.

Advice: Lively turned in a strong performance aside from serving up solo homers to Jose Siri and Brandon Lowe. The Rays threw a combined shutout and stuck Lively with the tough-luck loss. His seven punchouts matched a season best, and he's now hit that mark four times in 2024. Lively will begin the second half with a strong 3.58 ERA and 78:25 K:BB through 16 starts. In eight outings since the start of June, he's registered a 4.40 ERA. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:35 pm

  • Unlikely for Pittsburgh series
Manager Rob Thomson said Sunday that Realmuto (knee) likely won't be activated from the 10-day injured list when the Phillies open their second-half schedule Friday in Pittsburgh, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Realmuto is reportedly progressing well in his recovery from the meniscectomy he underwent June 12, but his return date looks to have been pushed back a few days after poor weather in Philadelphia this past weekend prevented him from getting in his scheduled on-field work. The veteran backstop should continue to take part in baseball activities on his own during the All-Star break this coming week, but the Phillies will likely want to monitor him in a few more workouts before reinstating him from the IL. A return to action in the week of July 22 still looks to be in the cards for Realmuto. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:00 pm

  • Drives in five Sunday
Rooker went 2-for-2 with a pair of two-run home runs, an RBI sacrifice fly and a walk in an 18-3 win over the Phillies on Sunday.

Advice: Rooker ignited the Athletics' eight-homer barrage on the afternoon with the first of his two massive round trippers, slugging a 450-foot shot to center with JJ Bleday aboard in the fourth inning to erase a 1-0 deficit. He'd one-up himself just two frames later, clearing the center-field wall at a distance of 452 feet to plate Bleday once again. The All-Star snub has been one of baseball's most fearsome hitters since the calendar flipped to July, hitting .488 (20-for-41) with three doubles, six home runs, 15 RBI, seven walks, three stolen bases and 15 runs. • Camilo Doval gives up two runs, takes blown save
Camilo Doval gave up two runs while getting just one out in the ninth to take his fourth blown save Sunday against the Twins.

Advice: Doval has been shaky throughout, though he did come into this one having allowed just one run in his previous nine innings. Today, he faced four batters and retired only one of them, allowing one walk and then a pair of doubles. The rough showing leaves him 17-for-21 in save opportunities and with a 4.38 ERA. His closer’s role has to be in some jeopardy, given that the Giants have plenty of solid alternatives. He certainly can’t afford to blow another save chance right away after the break. • Blows save Sunday
Doval allowed two runs on two hits and a walk while striking out one over one-third of an inning, taking a blown save in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Twins.

Advice: Doval's poor performance didn't stop the Giants from winning, but it made things a bit hairy in the ninth inning. The closer had gone five scoreless innings since his last blown save June 28, though he continues to put too many batters on base. For the season, Doval has a 4.38 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 49:24 K:BB over 37 innings while going 17-for-21 in save chances. If manager Bob Melvin changes his approach to the closer job, Doval could lose some of his save share to Ryan Walker or Tyler Rogers. Rotowire.com Sunday, 4:47 pm

  • Xander Bogaerts collects RBI in loss to Braves
Xander Bogaerts went 2-for-4 and drove in a run as the Padres fell to the Braves in Sunday’s first half finale.

Advice: The Padres strung together three singles against Chris Sale in the opening inning, with Bogaerts’ knock plating Donovan Solano with the game’s first run. Bogaerts also led off the eighth inning with an infield single. He is now hitting .231/.274/.323 with four homers, 15 RBI and four stolen bases through his first 49 contests on the season.
