  • Called up, starting Tuesday
Curry was recalled from Triple-A Columbus and will start Tuesday against the Mets, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Advice: The 25-year-old was optioned to Columbus in mid-April but will return to Cleveland's rotation as Carlos Carrasco (neck) lands on the injured list. Curry made just one start while up with the Guardians and delivered five scoreless frames, and he should have a chance to stick in the rotation with another strong performance Tuesday. • Rangers transfer Pruitt (knee) to 60-day IL
Rangers transferred RHP Austin Pruitt from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: Pruitt has been on the shelf since April 24 with a right meniscus injury. He now won’t be eligible to return to the Rangers until June 24 at the earliest. The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster, and Texas used it to select the contract of Derek Hill from Triple-A Round Rock. Rotoworld 16 minutes ago

  • Out with neck spasms
The Guardians placed Carrasco on the 15-day injured list Tuesday due to acute neck spasms, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The veteran right-hander was scheduled to start Tuesday against the Mets but will now be sidelined for at least the next couple weeks. Carrasco had been pitching well of late with a 3.00 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in his past three starts, and it's unclear how long he's expected to be unavailable. • Lands on injured list
Beeter was placed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday with an unspecified injury, Conor Foley of YES Network reports.

Advice: It's unclear when Beeter suffered the injury, but he last pitched for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on May 15, when he struck out three and walked five over four scoreless innings. The right-hander will be unavailable for at least the next week, but it's unclear when he's expected to return. Rotowire.com Today, 10:56 am

  • Cade Cavalli (elbow) throws 2 /23 scoreless in FCL
Cade Cavalli (elbow) struck out five over 2 2/3 scoreless innings during a rehab start Monday in the Florida Complex League.

Advice: Cavalli allowed one hit and one walk. The right-hander has made steady progress as of late from Tommy John surgery, and he was up to 97 mph while throwing 25-of-44 pitches for strikes. Cavalli will likely need to make a couple more rehab starts at the minimum, but he could be back in the rotation for the Nationals by the end of June. Rotoworld Today, 7:50 am

  • Sharp in first rehab start
Cavalli (elbow) allowed one hit and one walk in 2.2 scoreless innings for the Nationals' Florida Complex League team Monday. He struck out five.

Advice: Seeing his first game action since undergoing Tommy John surgery in March 2023, Cavalli simply overmatched FCL hitters over 44 pitches. The 25-year-old right-hander touched 97 mph with his fastball, per Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports, and the one hit off him came from MLB veteran Jose Abreu. Washington will now have 30 days to decide whether Cavalli is ready to join the big-league rotation in mid-June, but if the front office decided he needs more time to complete his recovery, he could be optioned to Triple-A Rochester. Either way, Cavalli should be back on the 26-man roster some time this summer. Rotowire.com Today, 7:43 am

  • In line for start Wednesday
Martinez is listed as the Reds' probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Padres in Cincinnati.

Advice: After Nick Lodolo (groin) went on the injured list, Martinez stepped into the vacant rotation spot last week in Los Angeles. He was deployed in bulk relief behind opener Brent Suter in last Thursday's 7-2 win, tossing five shutout innings while allowing one hit and no walks. Barring a late change of plans from manager David Bell, Martinez looks poised to operate as a traditional starter Wednesday, and he should have a higher innings ceiling as a result. • Solid in return
Megill (0-2) took the loss against Cleveland on Monday, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out seven batters over five innings.

Advice: Megill made his first big-league start since exiting his season debut March 31 with a right shoulder strain. He had a nearly full workload with 86 pitches and allowed just four hits over five frames, but three of them came consecutively in the first inning, resulting in a pair of runs. Though that was enough to saddle him with the loss, this was a promising return for Megill, who should settle into New York's rotation moving forward after racking up a career-high 25 starts and 126.1 innings last year.
