    • Pete Alonso gets first day off Monday vs. STL
Pete Alonso is not in the starting lineup for Monday’s game against the Cardinals.

Advice: Alonso will sit for the first time this year against right-hander Kyle Gibson and St. Louis. With the Polar Bear out of action, the Mets will start DJ Stewart and he’ll hit fourth. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago

    • Getting first day off
Alonso is absent from the lineup for Monday's contest in St. Louis.

Advice: It's the first day off this season for Alonso, who is in a 1-for-28 drought at the plate to drop his season batting line down to just .206/.295/.420. He should be back in there Tuesday. On Monday, it will be DJ Stewart getting his first major-league start at first base. Rotowire.com 17 minutes ago

    • Filling bench role Monday
Black is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals.

Advice: After being called up from Triple-A Nashville last Tuesday, Black worked in a reserve role for his MLB debut that day but proceeded to start at first base or designated hitter in each of the Brewers' subsequent four contests. Black went 2-for-15 with seven strikeouts over those four starts, but the Brewers will likely give him some more time to right the ship as an everyday player, at least against right-handed pitching. The lefty-hitting Black will hit the bench against Royals southpaw Cole Ragans on Monday. Rotowire.com 32 minutes ago

    • Swipes two bags
Chisholm went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, one RBI, two steals and a walk in Sunday's win over the Athletics.

Advice: Chisholm drew a leadoff walk, then stole second and third before scoring during Miami's four-run first inning. He added two singles later in the contest, including an RBI knock in the sixth. Chisholm had gone 11 straight games without a multi-hit effort, posting a .607 OPS during that span. He now owns a .702 OPS with seven steals, 10 extra-base hits and 19 RBI through 144 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:44 pm

    • Jazz Chisholm has two hits, two steals in win
Jazz Chisholm went 2-for-4 with an RBI, two runs scored, and two steals in a win over the A’s.

Advice: Chisholm’s two hits were both singles and both were under 93 mph off the bat; however, he made the most of both trips on the bases with two steals, which gives him seven on the season. The 26-year-old is slashing just .234/.319/.383 on the season and is just one of many Marlins off to a slow start to 2024. Perhaps the possibility of being traded to another team during the team’s firesale will spark a hot streak. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:59 pm

    • Secures extra-inning win
Yates (3-0) earned the win after he pitched two scoreless innings, allowing a walk while striking out two batters in Sunday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Royals.

Advice: Yates entered the game in the bottom of the eighth inning with the Rangers trailing 2-1, and he was able to work around a walk to keep it a one-run deficit going into the ninth. After Texas tied it up at 2-2, the right-hander returned for the following frame, setting the Royals down in order. The Rangers went on to win in the 10th inning, earning Yates his third victory of the year. The 37-year-old has yet to allow an earned run this season while posting a 0.50 WHIP with five saves over 14 innings in 12 appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:14 pm

    • Dansby Swanson goes deep in victory over Brewers
Dansby Swanson walloped his fourth home run of the season on Sunday as the Cubs shut out the Brewers at Wrigley Field.

Advice: Swanson crushed a 399-foot (109.3 mph EV) solo shot off of Thyago Viera in the sixth inning, extending the Cubs’ lead to 4-0. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the afternoon. The 30-year-old infielder has had a rough go at the plate through the first month-plus of the 2024 campaign — slashing .220/.287/.358 to go along with four homers, 12 RBI and four stolen bases. • Impressive over six innings
Crochet (2-4) earned the win after he pitched six innings, allowing one run on three hits while striking out six batters in Sunday's 5-1 victory over the Cardinals.

Advice: Crochet was able to make it back-to-back strong outings Sunday, limiting the Cardinals to just one run on a fourth-inning solo home run by Willson Contreras. The left-hander secured his first quality start since April 3 in the win and he has now allowed just three runs over 11 innings in his last two outings. Crochet will carry a 5.31 ERA and 11.7 K/9 into his next projected start Friday at home versus the Guardians. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:26 pm

    • Edouard Julien fans three times in defeat
Edouard Julien struck out all three times he was up before being replaced Sunday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Julien had a great stretch towards the end of last month to push his OPS up to .890, but he’s back down to .795 now after going 1-for-18 with 11 strikeouts in his last seven games. He does have six walks during that span, but he hasn’t scored a single run. It’s going to be tough to justify using him in shallow leagues if he’s a platoon player not hitting for average or stealing many bases. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:24 pm
