    • Cracks homer in win
Rafaela went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in Sunday's 9-2 win over the Twins.

Advice: Rafaela's fifth-inning, two-run shot gave Boston a lead it never relinquished. It was the Red Sox's first home run in a span of 220 at-bats dating back to April 27 when Rafaela connected as part of a four-hit game against the Cubs. He was hitting just .156 leading up to that four-hit game, which appears to have triggered his bat. Rafaela has hit safely in seven of the last eight contests, going 10-for-29 (.345) with six extra-base hits, seven RBI and six runs scored. Rotowire.com Today, 6:41 am

    • No rehab assignment needed
Eovaldi (groin) isn't expected to require a rehab assignment prior to being activated from the 15-day injured list, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Rangers manager Bruce Bochy expressed optimism that Eovaldi, who was placed on the injured list Friday, will return when first eligible May 18. Jack Leiter is expected to be called up from Triple-A Round Rock to and fill the gap in the rotation until Eovaldi and/or Max Scherzer (back/thumb) are ready to return from the IL. • Belts grand slam
Santander went 3-for-5 with a home run, five RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Sunday's win over Cincinnati.

Advice: Santander already had a nice multi-hit performance in the bag before capping his day off with a ninth-inning grand slam in the blowout victory. It was his fifth long ball of the year and first since April 17, snapping a 15-game drought. He posted a .505 OPS over his previous 13 games since his last multi-hit effort April 20. Santander is now slashing .218/.295/.427 with 23 RBI and 15 extra-base hits through 33 appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:10 pm

    • Tosses scoreless frame
Jansen pitched one scoreless inning, allowing one hit in Sunday's 9-2 win over the Twins.

Advice: Jansen was locked into appearing in Sunday's contest no matter what, and he worked around an error by his defense and a single for a scoreless ninth inning. The 36-year-old is firmly locked into being Boston's closer in 2024, posting a 1.69 ERA and 1.22 WHIP with 14 strikeouts over 10.2 innings in 11 appearances while going 5-for-6 on save opportunities so far. • Santander has three hits, five RBI vs CIN
Anthony Santander went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored, and five RBI in an 11-1 win over the Reds on Sunday.

Advice: It was only a matter of time before Santander started to get hot. The 29-year-old took Emilio Pagan deep for a three-run shot in the eighth innings that went 402 feet and left the bat at 104 mph. He also had a 107.3 mph single and 98.3 mph single on the day. He’s slashing .218/.295/.427 on the season with five home runs and 23 RBI. If you can, now would still be the time to try and trade for Santander before he really gets hot. • Wyatt Langford (hamstring) heading to 10-day IL
Rangers’ manager Bruce Bochy told reporters after Sunday’s game that Wyatt Langford will be placed on the injured list on Monday with a hamstring strain.

Advice: Bochy termed the injury as slightly more severe than a Grade 1 strain and noted that the 22-year-old outfielder will be facing a 3-4 week absence. It’s a tough break for fantasy managers who will need to be sure to have an alternative option in place for the next month or so while Langford recovers from the injury. Ezequiel Duran started in his place on Sunday and will likely see increased action while Langford is shelved. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:12 pm

    • Headed for multi-week absence
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said after Sunday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Royals that Langford (hamstring) is expected to miss 3-to-4 weeks and will be placed on the 10-day injured list, Jackson Stone of MLB.com reports.

Advice: An MRI confirmed that Langford sustained a right hamstring strain in Saturday's 15-4 win, and he now looks in line to miss the rest of May while recovering from the injury. The 22-year-old rookie has typically served as the Rangers' primary designated hitter this season, but Texas could rotate a number of players at the DH spot while opening up opportunities in the infield for Ezequiel Duran. Langford had gotten off to a slow start to his big-league career before suffering the injury, as he carried a .224 batting average to go with one home run and one stolen base over his first 31 games. • Ceddanne Rafaela homers as BoSox snap Twins streak
Ceddanne Rafaela homered and walked Sunday as the Red Sox snapped the Twins’ 12-game winning streak by prevailing 9-2.

Advice: Rafaela’s homer was 105.2 mph off the bat and was projected at 398 feet. The 23-year-old clearly possesses sufficient pop, but the approach needs work; he’s swinging at everything and just not making hard contact consistently. The result to date has been a .202/.228/.370 line with three homers and four steals in seven tries. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:25 pm

    • X-rays return negative
Pepiot had X-rays come back negative and was diagnosed with a bruised lower left leg after exiting Sunday's start against the Mets, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Advice: The 26-year-old appears to have avoided a serious injury after being struck in the leg by a 107-mph comebacker, which prompted his exit during the third inning Sunday. Pepiot could remain on turn to pitch against the Yankees next weekend if he bounces back well from the injury over the next few days. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:20 pm
