• Solid in season debut
Bradish did not factor into the decision Thursday against the Yankees, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Bradish had to contend with some traffic Thursday, though he'd ultimately hold the Yankees to one run on Anthony Rizzo's two-out RBI single in the third inning. Overall, it was an encouraging debut from Bradish after he'd missed the first month of the season with a partially torn UCL -- he averaged 95 MPH with his sinker while inducing six whiffs on his slider, both in line with his numbers from last year. It remains to be seen if the Orioles will allow Bradish to work deeper into the game in his next start. He's currently scheduled for a road matchup with the Nationals. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago

  • Cristian Javier to make rehab start this weekend
Cristian Javier (neck) will begin a minor league rehab assignment this weekend.

Advice: It’s an extremely encouraging development for Houston’s injury-plagued rotation as Javier appears close to returning after landing on the injured list back on April 21 with neck discomfort. The 27-year-old righty might be ready to return after just one rehab outing, but nothing official yet. Rotoworld 21 minutes ago
  • Steven Matz (back) unlikely to make next start
Steven Matz (back) is unlikely to make his next scheduled start on Sunday against the White Sox.

Advice: The interesting wrinkle here is that the Cardinals decision to bump up Kyle Gibson and Miles Mikolas creates an opening on Tuesday against the Mets. The most likely candidate to fill that void would be pitching prospect Sem Robberse, who would be taking the ball on regular rest, and has been excellent this season for Triple-A Memphis. It’s a storyline worth monitoring this weekend. Rotoworld 23 minutes ago
