• Shifted to bullpen
Suarez has been moved to the Orioles' bullpen, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: Suarez was excellent in three starts for the Orioles, collecting a 2.35 ERA and 15:3 K:BB across 15.1 innings of work. It's possible he'll be needed for more starts down the line, but with Kyle Bradish and John Means set to rejoin the rotation, Suarez will shift to a relief role for now. Rotowire.com 17 minutes ago
  • Sticks in rotation
Irvin is slated to start Friday's game against the Reds in Cincinnati, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The Orioles returned Kyle Bradish (forearm) and John Means (elbow) from the 15-day injured list, but with Grayson Rodriguez (shoulder) landing on the IL on Wednesday, Baltimore will only have to move one starter out of the rotation to accommodate the two new arrivals. At least for this week, the Orioles are opting to keep Irvin in the rotation over Albert Suarez, who is now being listed as a reliever after he had posted a 2.35 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in 15.1 innings over his three starts with Baltimore. Irvin's season-long numbers (3.49 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 18:7 K:BB in 28.1 innings) aren't quite as sparkling as Suarez's, but the southpaw has been excellent his last two times out, blanking the Royals on the road over 6.2 innings on April 21 before spinning seven shutout innings against the Athletics last Saturday. He could have a tougher time keeping the scoreless stretch going this weekend, taking on the Reds in one of baseball's more hitter-friendly parks. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago
  • Slated for season debut Saturday
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said Means (elbow) will make his first start of the season Saturday in Cincinnati, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: Means was activated from the 15-day injured list Wednesday, and now the Orioles have revealed the date for the left-hander's 2024 big-league debut. While Means pitched poorly for most of his rehab assignment, he was excellent in his final outing with Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday, striking out eight over seven shutout innings while allowing just one hit and one walk. The southpaw got his pitch count up to 95 in that start, so he shouldn't have any workload concerns Saturday. Rotowire.com 32 minutes ago
  • Walker Buehler (elbow) to make debut Monday
Walker Buehler (elbow) is scheduled to make his season debut on Monday, according to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts.

Advice: It’s been about 20 months since Buehler has pitched in a major league game, but that will come to an end in just a few days. The 29-year-old hurler has been putting together multiple rehab stints to get ramped up for his return to the Dodgers. In his last outing, he allowed just one run across five innings and threw 75 pitches. This will be a big season for Buehler as he and the team have entertained the possibility of a contract extension in the past, but now it will be an important factor for the team as he enters free agency after 2024. • Giants recall Randy Rodríguez from Triple-A
Giants recalled RHP Randy Rodríguez from Triple-A Sacramento.

Advice: The 24-year-old will come up to the majors and hopefully be an arm the Giants can rely on in the bullpen. The 24-year-old has impressed early on in Triple-A as he’s posted a 1.69 ERA, 1.03 WHIP with a 10/4 K/BB ratio across 10 2/3 innings of work. Rotoworld 43 minutes ago
  • Giants option Daulton Jefferies to Triple-A
Giants optioned RHP Daulton Jefferies to Triple-A Sacramento.

Advice: Jefferies has appeared in two games (one start) for the Giants this season and has allowed nine earned runs in his 4 2/3 innings of work. Not good. The 28-year-old missed all of last season after he underwent Tommy John surgery and will hopefully get right down at Triple-A. Rotoworld 43 minutes ago
  • Joins big-league bullpen
The Giants recalled Rodriguez from Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Rodriguez, 24, earns the promotion after allowing just two runs with a 10:4 K:BB over 10.2 innings with Sacramento this season. He will be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game. Rotowire.com Today, 8:05 am
  • Sent to Triple-A
The Giants optioned Jefferies to Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Jefferies was used in bulk relief in Wednesday's 6-2 loss to the Red Sox, allowing four runs over 2.2 innings as he took the loss. He'll rejoin Sacramento's rotation, and his spot on the Giants' 26-man active roster spot will go to right-hander Randy Rodriguez, who was called up from Triple-A. Rotowire.com Today, 8:02 am
  • Rehab start coming soon
Luzardo (elbow) threw a successful bullpen session Thursday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Luzardo will make a rehab start sometime during the Marlins' upcoming road trip. The left-hander is eligible for activation from the 15-day injured list on May 10, and he could be a realistic candidate to start against the Phillies that day, if all goes well in his throwing program. Luzardo has been working his way back from a mild left flexor strain. Rotowire.com Today, 7:57 am
