      Advice: Ramirez provided the go-ahead run in the sixth inning, tagging Jack Flaherty for a solo homer. Ramirez has now generated a home run in back-to-back games but is still trying to dig his way out of a slump.     • Mixed results in season debut
      Buehler allowed three runs on six hits and no walks while striking out four batters over four innings in a no-decision against Miami on Monday.

      Advice: Buehler had a favorable matchup in his first major-league start since mid-June of 2022, as he squared off against the team with the third-worst record in baseball. That didn't seem to matter early, though, as the Marlins jumped on the right-hander for a pair of first-inning runs on a trio of singles. However, Buehler's fastball velocity averaged a solid 96.6 mph in the frame, per Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register, which foreshadowed him settling down to allow just one more run over the remainder of his outing. Not surprisingly, the 29-year-old wasn't pushed too hard in his return to the majors, as he was pulled after 77 pitches and four frames rather than being allowed to complete the fifth and qualify for the win. Assuming Buehler comes out of the start without any setbacks, Monday's outing will likely serve as a foundation on which he can build up to a higher pitch count moving forward.       Walker Buehler allowed three runs over four innings in a start Monday against the Marlins.

      Advice: He allowed six hits with no walks, and he struck out four. Buehler didn’t get deep enough to qualify for the win, as he threw 77 pitches in his first start since June of 2022. The right-hander gave up a pair of run-scoring singles in the first and a homer to Nick Gordon in the second, but Buehler settled down nicely over the final two innings, and showed flashes of the ace hurler he was prior to Tommy John surgery.       Diaz earned a save against the Cardinals on Monday, striking out one batter in a perfect ninth inning.

      Advice: Diaz blew his first save of the season Sunday against Tampa Bay, but he went right back to work with the Mets holding a one-run ninth-inning lead a day later. The star closer didn't falter this time, retiring all three batters he faced on 11 pitches. The save was Diaz's fifth of the campaign and his first since April 15.       Edwin Díaz hurled a perfect ninth inning on Monday against the Cardinals to collect his fifth save of the season.

      Advice: Díaz got the call to protect a narrow one-run margin in the final frame during Monday’s series opener at Busch Stadium and needed just 11 pitches (seven strikes) to slam the door. He struck out Alec Burleson before coaxing ground outs from Brendan Donovan and Masyn Winn to end the contest. He’s converted five of his six save chances this season to go along with a 2.45 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and sparkling 22/4 K/BB ratio across 14 2/3 innings (14 appearances) this season.       José Ramírez went 1-for-4 with a home run in Monday’s 2-1 win over the Tigers.

      Advice: Ramírez’s go-ahead home run came in the sixth inning as it hugged the right side of the diamond and hit the foul pole. It was a much-needed run for Cleveland who are now 23-12 through its first 35 games of the season — the team’s best start since 2011.       Advice: As expected, Buehler will toe the rubber Monday evening in his first MLB action since undergoing Tommy John surgery in August 2022. He cruised through five innings April 30 during his final rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City, surrendering one run while fanning five batters, but even so, expect the club to keep a close eye on the right-hander's pitch count in the series opener.       Advice: Skenes' last start with Indianapolis was his first this season on regular rest, and he wasn't as dominant as he had been, yielding two runs on three hits and a 4:2 K:BB over 4.1 innings. He threw 66 pitches in the outing. The top prospect's major-league debut should be coming sooner rather than later, but the Pirates have opted to give him at least one more start in the minors.
