    • Activated from injured list
The Pirates activated Hayes (back) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: Hayes has been sidelined since early May with a back injury but will skip a rehab assignment and go directly back on the Pirates' active roster. The third baseman is slashing a disappointing .240/.322/.318 with just one home run and zero stolen bases this season. Rotowire.com Today, 10:57 am
    • Pirates reinstate Ke’Bryan Hayes off injured list
Pirates reinstated INF Ke’Bryan Hayes off the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Hayes is back after missing three weeks with inflammation in his back. The 27-year-old hasn’t been successful in 2024 when health with a .640 OPS, but he was a solid option in 2023 with enough talent to suggest as a speculative add for those who need help in the corner infield. • Nearing next steps
Hayes (back) has been hitting on the field and will run the bases Sunday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Assuming he feels well after Sunday's activity, Hayes will meet with manager Derek Shelton to determine his next steps. That would presumably either be activation from the injured list or a rebab assignment. Rotowire.com Sunday, 6:14 am
    • Swipes bag in win
Gorman went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs scored in Saturday's 7-6 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Gorman's game is more power than speed, but he's done a little of both with three home runs and two steals over his last six contests. Those two thefts account for his season total. The second baseman is slashing .215/.308/.423 with eight homers, 21 RBI, 20 runs scored and seven doubles over 169 plate appearances on the year. He's not making a lot of contact; his 35.5 percent strikeout rate is an anchor on the rest of his stat line. Rotowire.com Saturday, 8:13 pm

    • Sitting against left-hander
Gorman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Gorman clubbed a tie-breaking, two-run home run earlier Wednesday in the completion of Tuesday's suspended game, but he will take a seat versus left-hander John Means for the regularly scheduled contest. Brendan Donovan will replace Gorman at second base. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:25 am

    • Nolan Gorman homers to lead Cardinals past Orioles
Nolan Gorman hit a two-run homer after play resumed Wednesday as the Cardinals beat the Orioles 3-1 in Tuesday’s suspended game.

Advice: Gorman also doubled in the Cardinals’ lone run before play was halted in a 1-1 game last night. The homer today came immediately came right after play resumed in the bottom of the sixth and made a winner of Lance Lynn, who pitched six innings of one-run ball last night. Gorman has four homers and 10 RBI in his last 11 games. His OPS has jumped from .575 to .724 during that span, and he should probably be picked up in leagues in which he was dropped. • Plates five in win
Bohm went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and two additional RBI during Sunday's 11-5 win over the Nationals.

Advice: Bohm collected more than four RBI for the fifth time in his career, hitting a pair of sacrifice flies before tagging Tanner Rainey for a three-run homer in the eighth inning. In his last six games, Bohm is batting 8-for-24 (.333) with nine RBI. Rotowire.com May 19, 9:02 pm

    • Alec Bohm knocks in five to take over MLB lead
Alec Bohm had a three-run homer and two sac flies to lead the Phillies to an 11-5 win over the Nationals on Sunday.

Advice: Bohm has had four six-RBI games in his career, including one last month, but this is the first time he’s finished with exactly five. He’s now the major league leader with 42 RBI, giving him one more than Marcell Ozuna and José Ramírez. With a .330/.389/.528 line in 47 games, he’s on track to make his All-Star debut this summer. • Heads to bench Sunday
Gorman is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Advice: Gorman has homered in back-to-back games, but the strikeouts are piling up. He's struck out 10 times in his last 16 at-bats, bringing his K-rate to 35 percent through 157 plate appearances this season. Brendan Donovan will start at second base Sunday as Alec Burleson takes over in left field and Matt Carpenter starts at DH. Rotowire.com May 19, 7:34 am
