      Trevor Megill closed out a 3-1 win over the Reds for his 12th save of the season.

      Advice: It wasn’t a flawless inning for Megill, who did allow a walk, a hit, and a run; however, he got the job done. He now has a 2.25 ERA on the season and has been a steadying presence for the Brewers at the end of games. Even though he will lose his job as closer when Devin Williams returns, he’ll remain a valuable reliever for the Brewers and needs to simply be held in fantasy leagues because you’re unlikely to get much trying to trade him away when everybody knows his time accruing saves is coming to a close within the month.     • Falls to Brewers on Saturday
      Abbott (5-6) took the loss against Milwaukee on Saturday, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out three batters over five innings.

      Advice: Abbott navigated around a stream of baserunners to keep the Brewers off the scoreboard for four frames, but he put himself in quick danger by walking the first two batters in the fifth. That came back to hurt him in a big way when Joey Ortiz hit a changeup for a three-run homer, accounting for all the runs Abbott surrendered in the outing. It was the southpaw's second straight start of five frames after he went at least six innings in four consecutive outings between May 15 and June 3. Abbott has fared decently well this season with a 3.42 ERA and 1.20 WHIP, though his 60:25 K:B over 79 frames doesn't help his fantasy stock. Rotowire.com Today, 7:41 pm

      Jeimer Candelario went 2-for-4 with an RBI in a loss to the Brewers on Saturday.

      Advice: It’s been quite a month for Candelario, who is now 20-for-56 (.357) with six home runs and 14 RBI in 13 games in June. The 30-year-old will remain a fixture in the Reds’ lineup, even when Noelvi Marte returns, and is looking to continue the progress he showed last year with the Nationals and Cubs.       Megill notched a save against the Reds on Saturday, allowing one run on one hit and one walk in one inning.

      Advice: A trio of Milwaukee pitchers combined to shut out Cincinnati over eight innings before the ball was handed to Megill for the ninth. The right-hander didn't make things easy, issuing a walk and a run-scoring double before getting his first out, but he was ultimately able to slam the door for the save. Megill has been great in his first venture as a closer this season, going 12-for-13 in save tries while posting a 2.25 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 25:6 K:BB over 20 innings. He appears to have a firm grasp on ninth-inning duties for the Brewers, at least until Devin Williams (back) is able to return from the injured list, potentially in the latter half of July.       Juan Soto blasted his 18th home run of the season on Saturday, but it wasn’t enough to power the Yankees past the Red Sox in Boston.

      Advice: Soto victimized Justin Slaten for his 392-foot (105.1 mph EV) solo shot in the seventh inning that pulled the Bombers to within two runs at 5-3. He also drew a pair of walks in the contest, finishing the evening 1-for-3 officially.       O'Hoppe went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 4-3 win over the Giants on Saturday.

      Advice: O'Hoppe singled in the fourth inning then tied the game with a two-run home run off Keaton Winn in the sixth. O'Hoppe has gone 15-for-29 during an eight-game hit streak and now has an extra-base hit in six straight contests.     • Andrew Abbott takes loss against Brewers
      Andrew Abbott allowed three runs on four hits in five innings in a loss to the Brewers on Saturday.

      Advice: It wasn’t a poor performance for the left-hander, who walked three and struck out three on the day. As is typical, Abbott didn’t get many whiffs, with just six whiffs on 43 swings for a 14 percent whiff rate and 22 percent CSW. However, he also didn’t allow much hard contact with just an 82.3 mph average exit velocity allowed.       Rodriguez (8-2) earned the win against the Phillies on Saturday, allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk with six strikeouts over seven innings.

      Advice: Rodriguez allowed runs on an RBI double by Alec Bohm in the first inning and a solo home run by Edmundo Sosa in the second but rebounded with five scoreless frames to earn his third consecutive win. This was the first time Rodriguez completed seven innings in a start this season, but he has pitched into the sixth in all but two of his 12 starts so far.       Brenton Doyle was scratched from the Rockies’ starting lineup on Saturday night due to left patella tendinitis.

      Advice: The fact that he was in the team’s initial lineup before getting scratched bodes well for his availability moving forward. Doyle should be considered day-to-day.
