• Gives up season-high six runs
Vasquez (1-4) took the loss after he gave up six runs in 4.1 innings Monday against the Phillies. He allowed 12 hits, walked two, and struck out two.

Advice: Vasquez was knocked around by the Phillies on Monday, and the 12 hits he allowed were a career high for the righty. Home runs by Kyle Schwarber and Alec Bohm accounted for most of the damage, but Vasquez was working around baserunners all evening. The 25-year-old has now given up at least three runs in seven of his nine starts this season and has a 5.70 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 28:9 K:BB across 42.2 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:18 pm
  • Takes loss Monday
Miller (4-5) retired three batters with a strikeout but allowed a solo home run to take the loss in Monday's 2-1 defeat against Atlanta.

Advice: Ozzie Albies took Miller deep with two outs in the eighth, and then the righty got stuck with the loss when the Tigers couldn't muster any more offense. The veteran has now been scored upon in his last two outings, pushing his season ERA up to 4.03. Despite the recent struggles, Miller should hold onto a high-leverage bullpen role due to his track record the past few years. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:16 pm
  • Pivetta picks up fourth win against Blue Jays
Nick Pivetta allowed three runs in seven innings and got the win in the Red Sox’ 7-3 victory over the Blue Jays on Monday.

Advice: Pivetta gave up nine hits, walked one and struck out four. It was his fourth win in 10 starts this season and he’s now won two of his last three starts. Pivetta allowed a sacrifice fly to Isiah Kiner-Falefa and solo home runs to Justin Turner and Davis Schneider, but that was it for the Toronto offense. His ERA is now 3.88 on the season. The 31-year-old right-hander is set to face the Reds on the road this weekend. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:08 pm

  • Jimenez picks up first save against Tigers Monday
Joe Jimenez threw a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Tigers on Monday.

Advice: Jimenez filled in nicely for Braves closer Raisel Iglesias, who had pitched in three of the last four days. There’s no closer controversy in Atlanta, but Jimenez lowered his ERA on the season to 2.89 with the scoreless inning. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:02 pm

  • Secures first save
Jimenez struck out one batter in a perfect inning to earn a save over the Tigers on Monday.

Advice: Jimenez tossed 10 of 13 pitches for strikes to protect the 2-1 lead and earn his first save of the year. He dropped his season ERA to 2.89 with a 30:10 K:BB through 28 innings. Since yielding four runs in a loss to the Padres on May 20, Jimenez has given up two runs over his last 10 appearances. Raisel Iglesias allowed two runs in a loss to the Rays on Sunday and was likely getting a routine day off Monday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:01 pm

  • David Bednar silences Reds to notch 15th save
David Bednar tossed a perfect frame on Monday against the Reds to record his 15th save of the season.

Advice: Bednar was summoned to protect a three-run lead in the final frame and required just 11 pitches (eight strikes) to spin a flawless frame. It was a nice rebound effort for the 29-year-old stopper after giving up solo homers in each of his previous two appearances. He’s converted 15 of his 18 save opportunities on the year. • Carson Spiers hurls six frames in loss to Pirates
Carson Spiers surrendered four runs over six innings on Monday in a loss to the Pirates.

Advice: Spiers held his own in this one, but was simply out-dueled by Pirates sensation Paul Skenes, who limited Cincinnati’s lineup to just one run over six frames. The 26-year-old righty put together the longest outing of his career to date, which is impressive since he was seemingly on the ropes in the opening frame when Pittsburgh got to him for three runs. He struck out five and only handed out one free pass. It’s unclear whether he’ll get another turn in the Reds’ starting rotation, but he’s in line to take the ball on Sunday afternoon against the Red Sox. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:58 pm
  • Randy Vásquez allows six runs in loss to Phillies
Randy Vásquez was lit up for six runs over 4 1/3 innings on Monday in a loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Vásquez was tagged for an astounding 12 hits, including a pair of homers, and was saddled with his fourth loss of the year. He struck out two and also issued a pair of walks. The 25-year-old righty is not a recommended fantasy option when he takes the ball on Saturday against the Brewers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:32 pm
  • Cleared to start Monday
Hicks (illness) will start Monday's game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field, Tony Andracki of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Advice: Giants manager Bob Melvin acknowledged after Hicks' most recent outing in Tuesday's loss to the Astros that the right-hander had been sick for several days leading up to the start. The illness might have played a factor in Hicks' lackluster numbers versus Houston (three runs allowed on five hits and one walk over 4.2 innings), but it won't cause him to miss his next turn through the rotation. With the ailment further in the rear-view mirror while he takes the hill Monday on five days' rest, Hicks will look to recapture the strong form he displayed earlier in the season. Even though he's failed to meet the threshold for a quality start in each of his last eight appearances, Hicks heads into Monday's game with a 3.01 ERA and 1.20 WHIP. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:06 am
