• Rangers recall Cole Winn, place him on IL
Rangers placed RHP Cole Winn on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to June 18, with right shoulder sprain, voiding his option to Triple-A Round Rock.

Advice: Winn was sent down after pitching on back-to-back days June 16-17 and giving up four runs in three innings of work. He complained of the shoulder issue after reporting to Triple-A, and now he’ll collect major league service time while working his way back. Rotoworld Monday, 6:11 pm

  • Placed on major-league 15-day IL
The Rangers rescinded Winn's option to Triple-A Round Rock and placed him on the 15-day injured list Monday with right shoulder discomfort, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Winn appears to have suffered the shoulder injury in his most recent appearance with the Rangers on June 17 against the Mets. He was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday, but that move is now void after his placement on the IL. Rotowire.com Monday, 5:22 pm

  • Returns to mound Sunday
Nunez (nose) allowed two runs on two hits and struck out one in a one-inning relief appearance during Sunday's 5-2 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Nunez had not pitched since June 15 due to a sinus infection, and he wasn't very sharp after a whole week off. The right-hander served up a two-run home run to Christopher Morel, but that was all the Cubs could muster. Nunez has a 2.89 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 27:4 K:BB over 18.2 innings this season, and he's added four holds while occasionally seeing high-leverage assignments. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:08 pm
  • Beginning assignment Tuesday
Muller (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Muller has been sidelined since the end of May due to tendinitis in his left shoulder, but he has now been given the go-ahead to test his shoulder in a game setting. The A's haven't specified how long they plan on keeping the 26-year-old in the minors, but he will likely require multiple rehab outings after being held out of action for nearly a month. • Battling sinus infection
Nunez hasn't pitched since June 15, and Mets manager Carlos Mendoza indicated earlier this week that the right-hander was dealing with a sinus infection, SNY reports.

Advice: After bouncing between Triple-A and the big-league roster in April and May, Nunez settled in following his latest promotion and is having a breakout campaign in the Mets' bullpen, posting a 2.04 ERA, 0.74 WHIP and 26:3 K:BB through 17.2 innings while generating a 42.2 percent whiff rate with his slider. The 28-year-old has four holds on the season, all of which have come in his last six appearances as he works his way into a high-leverage role. Once he's recovered from the infection, Nunez could emerge as a top set-up man for closer Edwin Diaz. Rotowire.com Sunday, 12:03 pm
  • Completes third rehab outing
Hall (knee) struck out one and allowed one hit and two walks over 1.1 innings in his latest rehab outing Thursday with Triple-A Nashville.

Advice: Hall has now made three starts for Nashville since resuming his rehab assignment June 13, but he has yet to cover more than two innings or throw more than 36 pitches in any of those outings. His usage would seem to hint that the Brewers envision Hall filling a multi-inning relief role upon his return from the 60-day injured list, after he struggled through four starts with Milwaukee (7.71 ERA, 2.27 WHIP in 16.1 innings) before being shut down April 21 with a left knee sprain. • Rangers option Yerry Rodríguez back to Triple-A
Rangers optioned RHP Yerry Rodríguez to Triple-A Round Rock.

Advice: Rodríguez heads back to the minors with veteran Max Scherzer coming off the injured list on Sunday to make his season debut. The 26-year-old righty has struggled to an inflated 6.88 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 12/11 K/BB ratio across 17 innings (12 appearances) this season in the big leagues. Rotoworld Sunday, 9:11 am
  • Optioned to Triple-A
The Rangers optioned Rodriguez to Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday.

Advice: Rodriguez was recalled by the big club for the third time June 18, but he did not make an appearance out of the Rangers' bullpen. Over 12 major-league appearances this season, Rodriguez has a 6.88 ERA and 1.59 WHIP over 17 innings. His move to Triple-A is to make room for Max Scherzer (back/thumb), who was reinstated off the 60-day injured list ahead of his start Sunday against the Royals. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:04 am
  • Returns to active roster
The Marlins selected Emanuel's contract from Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday.

Advice: Miami designated Emanuel for assignment Wednesday, but he stuck around in the organization and will now return to the big-league club just a few days later as the Marlins contend with a plethora of injuries to their pitching staff. The 32-year-old southpaw has worked exclusively as a reliever throughout his big-league career, but he has experience as a starter in the minors and will provide some length out of the Miami bullpen.
