    • On bench for nightcap
Jeffers is not in the starting lineup for Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader with the Athletics.

Advice: Jeffers will get a breather after he went 1-for-4 in the team's 6-2 win over Oakland in Game 1. Christian Vazquez will take over behind the plate and bat eighth in the nightcap. Rotowire.com 24 minutes ago

    • Chisholm has two-hit game in loss Sunday
Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 2-for-4 with an RBI against the Nationals on Sunday.

Advice: It was a quiet day for the Marlins offense as they could only muster one run against Washington. Chisholm’s single in the fifth inning temporarily tied the game at one. He’s hitting .260 with a .762 OPS and 34 RBI this year.

    • Resting for day game
Alvarez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.

Advice: Alvarez will get a breather for the day game Sunday after he started behind the plate Friday and Saturday. Luis Torrens will step in as the Mets' starting catcher in place of Alvarez, who has gone 2-for-14 with two RBI through his first four starts since returning from the 10-day injured list Tuesday. • Two doubles, stolen base in win
McMahon went 2-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 16-4 win over the Pirates.

Advice: McMahon doubled in his third trip to the plate and advanced to third on a sacrifice fly before then stealing home to increase Colorado's lead to five runs. The third baseman would add an RBI double in the eighth, giving him his sixth multi-base hit over his last four games. McMahon has also recorded multiple hits and scored two runs in three of his last four contests. Rotowire.com Today, 8:33 am

    • On bench Sunday
Turner is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.

Advice: George Springer will get the start at DH as Addison Barger takes over in right field against right-hander Ben Lively. Age has caught up to Turner in a hurry -- he's slashing .225/.314/.345 with four home runs this season -- and the veteran will likely continue to receive regular rest days as the Blue Jays work in newcomers like Barger and Spencer Horwitz. • Homers in loss
Soto went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two walks in Saturday's 8-4 loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Soto recently battled a forearm injury, and that may have been bothering him during an eight-game stretch without a homer. He also walked multiple times for the sixth time in 11 contests in June. The outfielder continues to put up superstar numbers with 18 homers, 55 RBI, 58 runs scored, four stolen bases and a .319/.435/.599 slash line over 70 games this season. • Goes five scoreless innings
Flaherty (4-4) earned the win Saturday over the Astros, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out six over five scoreless innings.

Advice: Flaherty was skipped once through the rotation while he dealt with a back injury, which he received an injection for Monday. He was good in his return, though he was limited to 73 pitches (46 strikes), as the Tigers likely didn't want to risk pushing him too hard after they built up a 10-0 lead. Flaherty is at a 3.01 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 100:11 K:BB through 77.2 innings over 13 starts this season. Assuming he doesn't aggravate the back injury, he is tentatively scheduled to make his next start at home in a favorable matchup versus the White Sox. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:11 pm
    • Juan Soto blasts 18th homer in loss on Saturday
Juan Soto blasted his 18th home run of the season on Saturday, but it wasn’t enough to power the Yankees past the Red Sox in Boston.

Advice: Soto victimized Justin Slaten for his 392-foot (105.1 mph EV) solo shot in the seventh inning that pulled the Bombers to within two runs at 5-3. He also drew a pair of walks in the contest, finishing the evening 1-for-3 officially. The 25-year-old superstar has been a monster in his first season with the Yankees — slashing .319/.435/.599 with the aforementioned 18 long balls and 55 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:32 pm

    • Flaherty pitches well through back injury
Jack Flaherty threw five scoreless innings in a win over the Astros on Saturday, allowing three hits and striking out six.

Advice: Flaherty received an anti-inflammatory injection on Monday and had a few extra days of rest to combat a back injury, but he looked good overall on Saturday. His four-seam velocity was down 1.5 mph, so that’s something to keep an eye on, but he induced eight whiffs on 31 swings for a 26 percent whiff rate and 32 percent CSW. He needed just 73 pitches to get through five innings and sets up for a great spot next week against the White Sox. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:11 pm
