    • Brayan Bello shellacked in loss to Blue Jays
Brayan Bello allowed seven runs on five hits in 2 1/3 innings in a loss to the Blue Jays on Tuesday.

Advice: Bello held the Blue Jays scoreless for the first two innings, but the wheels fell off in a big way in the third inning. The first six batters of the inning reached before Bello could get a groundout, but then a home run to George Springer chased him from the game. The right-hander did get six whiffs on 20 swings in his limited time but he threw on 42 percent of his pitches in the strike zone and had no feel for anything on the night. After a strong start to the season, Bello has struggled over his final seven starts, and the loss of feel for his changeup, which has been his primary pitch in his young career, is concerning. • Tuesday's start postponed
Gibson and the Cardinals won't face Atlanta on Tuesday after the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Tuesday's game will be made up via a doubleheader Wednesday, and Gibson will take the mound for Game 1. The 36-year-old righty threw seven scoreless innings during his most recent start, though back tightness caused him to miss his last turn through the rotation. Rotowire.com Today, 6:37 pm

    • Braves vs. Cardinals postponed Tuesday due to rain
Tuesday’s game between the Braves and Cardinals was postponed due to inclement weather.

Advice: This one went into a preemptive rain delay prior to first pitch at Busch Stadium and it actually wound up staying pretty dry for a few hours before heavier showers rolled into the area. Odds are they probably could’ve gotten this one in if they had started on time. Instead, it’ll be made up on Wednesday as a doubleheader. Tuesday’s original scheduled starters -- Reynaldo López and Kyle Gibson -- will presumably take the ball at some point during Wednesday’s twin bill. Rotoworld Today, 6:17 pm

    • Zac Gallen (hamstring) decision coming this week
Zac Gallen (hamstring) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Thursday.

Advice: Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo told reporters they’ll make a decision on Gallen’s next step following his latest throwing session. The hope here for fantasy managers is that the 28-year-old ace will be ready to jump right back into Arizona’s starting rotation without needing a rehab assignment. There should be a decision on his status at some point later this week. Stay tuned. Rotoworld Today, 5:07 pm

    • Gets back in win column
Canning (3-8) allowed one run on five hits and one walk while striking out five over seven innings to earn the win over the Athletics on Monday.

Advice: Canning limited the damage to a Tyler Nevin solo home run in the second inning. This strong outing -- Canning's longest of the season -- ended his four-start losing streak. It's just the fourth time in 16 starts he's given up one run or less. The right-hander is now at a 4.72 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 59:30 K:BB through 87.2 innings this season. Canning is projected to make his next start at home versus the Tigers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:53 pm
    • Griffin Canning goes seven to beat A’s
Griffin Canning limited the A’s to one run in seven innings for a victory in a 5-1 game Monday.

Advice: Tyler Nevin’s homer was the only damage. The A’s almost had another homer against Hans Crouse in the ninth, but Taylor Ward caught Tyler Soderstrom’s shot to left that likely would have bounced off the top of the wall and over. The win was Canning’s first since May 15 and third in 16 starts on the season. He’s clearly throwing better now than he did in April, but it’s not enough to offer him mixed-league value. • Effective again Monday
Paxton allowed three hits and three walks while striking out six batters over five scoreless innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Monday.

Advice: Paxton needed 91 pitches to get through five frames, so he wasn't able to record a third straight quality start or hang around long enough for Los Angeles' offense to supply him a run. Nonetheless, the veteran left-hander was very effective, and he flashed some of the swing-and-miss stuff of his peak seasons with 18 whiffs. Since giving up a season-high seven runs (six earned) over 1.2 innings versus Pittsburgh in his first start of June, Paxton has surrendered just two runs across 18 frames over his subsequent three outings. The strikeout numbers have been improving too -- Paxton's two best punchout performances of the campaign have come in his past two starts. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:29 pm
    • Paxton tosses five scoreless in no-decision Monday
James Paxton allowed no runs in five innings and got a no-decision in the Dodgers’ 3-0 victory over the White Sox on Monday.

Advice: Paxton gave up three hits, walked three and struck out six. He had won his last two starts, but the Dodgers couldn’t score any runs to support him. It was still a good effort from Paxton, who lowered his ERA to 3.39 in the process. The 35-year-old left-hander is set to face the Giants on the road this weekend.

    • Throwing live BP on Monday
Gallen (hamstring) is slated to throw a live batting practice session Monday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Gallen threw 52 pitches in a previous simulated game this past Tuesday, so he'll likely increase his workload a bit in Monday's throwing session. If all goes well, the right-hander will likely be activated from the 15-day injured list during the Diamondbacks' series against Oakland that begins Friday. Gallen has been on the shelf since May 30 with a right hamstring strain. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:42 am
