    • Deyvison De Los Santos homers Friday at Triple-A
Diamondbacks 1B/3B prospect Deyvison De Los Santos went 3-for-4 with a solo homer on Friday for Triple-A Reno.

Advice: De Los Santos has taken full advantage of the hitter-friendly Texas League and Pacific Coast League this season, slashing a robust .348/.401/.668 with 21 homers across 65 games between Double-A and Triple-A so far. The 21-year-old slugger is quickly emerging as a potential option for Arizona at third base, especially with veteran Eugenio Suárez continuing to struggle in the majors. Rotoworld 6 minutes ago
    • Matt Wallner hits 18th homer at Triple-A on Friday
Matt Wallner belted a two-run homer on Friday for Triple-A St. Paul.

Advice: Wallner was shipped back to the minors in mid-April and has done nothing but hit for power ever since. The 26-year-old has gone deep 18 times in 56 games following Friday’s latest big fly. There’s a question whether he’ll put everything together at the highest level, but the power is legitimate. It might be time for Minnesota to give him another look, or ship him elsewhere, at some point this summer. Rotoworld 16 minutes ago
    • Joey Bart notches two hits, three RBI in rehab game
Joey Bart went 2-for-3 with three RBI on Friday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Indianapolis.

Advice: Bart is probably going to spend a couple more days down in the minors getting back up to speed since he’s been out since late May after suffering a left thumb injury. He should return at some point early next week. Rotoworld 24 minutes ago

    • Mets claim speedster Duke Ellis off waivers
Mets claimed OF Duke Ellis off waivers from the White Sox.

Advice: Ellis will head to Triple-A Syracuse as extra organizational outfield depth for New York after being scooped up off waivers on Friday. The 26-year-old speedster stole four bases in eight games during a brief stint with the White Sox earlier this month. He has 34 thefts across 41 games this season in the upper minors. • Joey Loperfido doubles twice in Astros’ win
Joey Loperfido went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI as the Astros topped the Orioles 14-11 on Friday.

Advice: That’s a pretty good return to the majors. Both of Loperfido’s doubles actually came in the same inning, as the Astros came through with nine runs in the sixth. The Orioles actually responded with seven runs in the eighth, but it wasn’t quite enough in this one. Loperfido is batting .372/.413/,512 in 16 games as a major leaguer, and since the Astros seem posted to play him regularly against right-handers, he’s worth rostering in all formats at the moment. • Bryan Abreu picks up first save of 2024
Bryan Abreu protected a three-run lead against the Astros for his first save Friday.

Advice: Josh Hader, Ryan Pressly and Abreu all worked the previous two days, but the youngest of the trio was the only one available tonight, apparently. Abreu got the job done and finally picked up his first save in the process. He leads the AL with 38 appearances this season, and his ERA is down to 2.58 after a rough start. Still. because of the lack of saves, he’ll make less than a quarter of what he’s worth in arbitration again next year. Rotoworld Today, 12:08 am

    • Takes second loss
Schreiber (3-2) allowed three runs on three hits over one-third of an inning to take the loss versus the Rangers on Friday.

Advice: Schreiber was on the hook for three of the five runs the Rangers scored in the sixth inning. After opening June with four scoreless innings, Schreiber's struggles have returned -- he's given up eight runs (six earned) over his last four appearances, taking two blown saves in that span. Friday's outing pushed his ERA up to 4.15 with a 1.48 WHIP and 20:11 K:BB over 30.1 innings. While he has a save and 16 holds to his name this year, he could see a move to a low-leverage role if he continues to falter. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:42 pm
    • Grabs five-out save
De Los Santos allowed a hit and struck out two over 1.2 scoreless innings to earn the save in Friday's 9-5 win over the Brewers.

Advice: Not often part of the high-leverage mix, De Los Santos got a chance to protect a three-run lead in the eighth inning. He delivered and also pitched the ninth to earn his first save since 2022, when he was with the Guardians. The right-hander has put together an okay season with a 3.41 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 38:9 K:BB over 31.2 innings, and he's added seven holds. His big problem has been the long ball -- De Los Santos has yielded nine home runs after giving up a total of seven homers across his previous two campaigns. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:19 pm
    • Goes deep again Friday
Ohtani went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run and two walks in Friday's 3-2 extra-inning loss to the Angels.

Advice: Ohtani accounted for four of the seven baserunners the Dodgers had in this contest, though the team's No. 2-through-5 hitters went a combined 0-for-16. Ohtani has logged multiple hits in five of his last six games, and he's swatted five homers with 11 RBI in that span. The superstar is up to a .322/.398/.628 slash line with 22 long balls, 55 RBI, 60 runs scored and 16 stolen bases on 18 attempts through 75 games this year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:03 pm
