    • Completes seven innings in loss
Fedde (5-2) took the loss to the Tigers on Friday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk with three strikeouts over seven innings.

Advice: Fedde allowed a two-run home run to Carson Kelly but was otherwise excellent, retiring the final 14 batters he faced. Despite the loss, this was Fedde's third consecutive quality start, and he has now yielded fewer than three earned runs in 12 of 16 outings this year. Fedde owns a 3.05 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 86:24 K:BB over 94.1 innings in what has been the best season of his career to this point . He tentatively lines up to face the Dodgers next week. • Erick Fedde pitches well in loss to Tigers Friday
Erick Fedde pitched well in a losing effort against the Tigers on Friday night, allowing just two runs on five hits over seven strong innings of work.

Advice: The right-hander punched out three batters on the evening while issuing only one base on balls. All of the damage done against him came on one mighty swing of the bat by Carson Kelly on a 2-1 sweeper in the second inning. He settled in beautifully after that and retired the final 14 batters that he faced in the contest, but the White Sox were unable to provide the requisite support. Fedde got 12 whiffs on 92 pitches on the night — six on his sinker — while registering a CSW of 25 percent. He’ll carry a 5-2 record, 3.05 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and an 86/24 K/BB ratio (94 1/3 innings) into Wednesday’s showdown against the Dodgers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:56 pm
    • Hangs on for 25th save
Helsley picked up the save over the Giants on Thursday, allowing one hit and one walk over one inning while striking out two.

Advice: Helsley took over in the ninth to protect a one-run lead and proceeded to walk the leadoff man while also coughing up a single three batters later. However, the right-hander rebounded nicely, striking out Matt Chapman to stop the late rally and earn his league-leading 25th save of the season. Helsley has converted each of his last four save opportunities, though he's also issued at least one walk in three consecutive outings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:11 am
    • Records 12th save
Phillips earned a save against the Rockies on Thursday, striking out two batters in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Phillips cruised to the save on 11 pitches, punching out two of the three batters he faced. It was the fifth straight scoreless and hitless outing for the closer, who has allowed an earned run in only two of his 21 appearances this season. Phillips is 12-for-12 in save chances this season -- he's the only MLB closer with that many saves who remains perfect in save opportunities. Rotowire.com Thursday, 11:13 pm

    • Ryan Helsley secures MLB-leading 25th save
Ryan Helsley fired a scoreless ninth inning on Thursday against the Giants to record his major league-leading 25th save of the season.

Advice: Helsley was summoned to protect a narrow one-run lead at historic Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Alabama and made things interesting by issuing a leadoff walk to Trenton Brooks and surrendering a two-out single to Patrick Bailey, which put the potential tying run in scoring position. He managed to wriggle out of the jam by striking out Matt Chapman to extinguish the threat. The hard-throwing 29-year-old righty has converted 25 of 26 save chances this season to go along with a sparkling 2.45 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 38/13 K/BB ratio across 33 innings (33 appearances). Simply put, he’s been one of the best closers in baseball this year. Rotoworld Thursday, 8:00 pm
    • Phillips picks up 12th save Thurday
Evan Phillips tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Rockies on Thursday.

Advice: Phillips’ save was his 12th of the year. He struck out two Rockies in the scoreless frame. Phillips hasn’t blown a save opportunity yet this year and his ERA is down to 1.80. Rotoworld Thursday, 3:26 pm

    • Fans nine in no-decision
Heaney allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out nine batters over six innings in a no-decision against the Mets on Wednesday.

Advice: Heaney induced 15 swinging strikes in the outing, helping him reach a season-high nine punchouts. The left-hander's strong start was somewhat spoiled by a Pete Alonso two-run homer in the sixth, but Heaney still completed that frame to finish with his fourth quality start of the campaign. The veteran hurler is just 2-8 on the season, but he's offered some stability at the back of Texas' rotation by giving up three or fewer earned runs in each of his past 10 appearances, posting a 3.26 ERA across 49.2 frames during that span. • Andrew Heaney strikes out nine Mets
Andrew Heaney allowed three earned runs in six innings against the Mets on Wednesday. He struck out nine and walked two in a no-decision.

Advice: Heaney has sneakily been decent this season - go figure it’s the first year he wasn’t listed in every sleeper and breakout list. He simplified his repertoire in this one with season-high 91% of his pitches being either a fastball or slider, a season-high. It worked here as the Mets could not figure him out. He’ll take a 4.21 ERA into his next start against the Brewers. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:51 pm

    • Falls short of quality start
Houck didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against Toronto, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks across 5.2 innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Houck ended up one out shy of a sixth consecutive quality start, getting pulled at 103 pitches after yielding an RBI single to Isiah Kiner-Falefa. Houck has struck out five or more batters in seven straight starts and owns a 4-2 record with a 2.17 ERA across 45.2 innings during that stretch. He's scheduled to close out a two-start week Sunday at Cincinnati. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 5:03 am
