    • Held out against righty again
Cowser is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.

Advice: Cowser belted his 10th home run of the season in Tuesday's loss to the Guardians, but he nonetheless finds himself on the bench for the second time during the three-game series. Both of those absences came against right-handed pitchers, so the lefty-hitting Cowser could be in danger of losing out on a regular spot in the outfield to fellow lefty hitter Heston Kjerstad, who will make his second start of the series following his call-up from Triple-A Norfolk on Monday. • Colton Cowser sits against Guardians on Wednesday
Even though he homered Tuesday, Colton Cowser is on the bench in favor of Heston Kjerstad on Wednesday.

Advice: This hardly seems fair to Cowser. A left-handed hitter, he’s now been on the bench the last two times the Orioles have faced a righty and started both games against lefties, even though he has perfectly normal splits (.769 OPS versus righties, .679 OPS against lefties). If the Orioles keep using him like this, there’s a good chance they’ll eventually have a better excuse for sending him down. Rotoworld Wednesday, 12:32 pm

    • Clubs homer in loss
Santander went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 10-8 loss to the Guardians.

Advice: Santander's up to 12 homers over 24 contests in June. The power surge is impressive, though he's losing a little consistency at the plate by going just 2-for-15 over the last four games. That quiet stretch has taken some of the wind out of his sails as he looks to get his season-long batting average to a respectable level. Santander is slashing .232/.302/.505 with 21 homers, 53 RBI, 44 runs scored, 13 doubles and one triple over 75 contests. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:52 pm

    • Reaches 10-homer mark
Cowser went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 10-8 loss to the Guardians.

Advice: Cowser has gone a modest 11-for-61 (.180) over 22 contests while seeing a part-time role in June. Five of his hits this month have gone for extra bases, and he's up to 10 homers on the year after Tuesday's long ball. He's slashing just .226/.317/.429 with 32 RBI, 29 runs scored and five stolen bases. Anthony Santander is about the only constant in the Orioles' outfield, leaving Cowser to compete with Cedric Mullins, Austin Hays and Heston Kjerstad for two positions on a regular basis. • Converts 10th save
Sewald allowed a hit in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Twins.

Advice: Sewald needed 17 pitches (nine strikes) to close out this contest, earning his 10th save in as many chances this year. He's on a 13.2-inning scoreless streak -- the only run he's allowed this year came in his season debut after he started the year on the injured list. Sewald has maintained a stellar 0.61 ERA, 0.55 WHIP and 12:3 K:BB over 14.2 innings this season. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:00 pm
    • Ends up with no-decision
Pfaadt allowed four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two over 6.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Twins on Tuesday.

Advice: Pfaadt pitched into the seventh inning for the second start in a row, but it resulted in him giving up a three-run home run to Ryan Jeffers that tied the game at 4-4. Arizona got the lead back in its half of the frame, but Pfaadt was already out of the game, leaving the win to reliever Kevin Ginkel. Through five starts in June, Pfaadt has allowed 17 runs over 30 innings with a 23:12 K:BB. He's now at a 4.45 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 86:24 K:BB through 97 innings across 16 starts this season. The right-hander is lined up to make his next start at home in a favorable matchup versus the Athletics. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 9:57 pm

    • Brandon Pfaadt blows lead in seventh versus Twins
Brandon Pfaadt surrendered four runs in 6 1/3 innings Tuesday in a no-decision against the Twins.

Advice: Byron Buxton homered off Pfaadt in the fifth, but that was the only run he allowed until the seventh, when he gave up a three-run shot to Ryan Jeffers. He was at just 80 pitches at the time, so fatigue probably wasn’t much of an issue. Still, it’s hard to go through a quality lineup three times. Pfaadt remained 3-6 with a 4.45 ERA. He’s due to face the A’s next. Rotoworld Tuesday, 9:17 pm

    • Paul Sewald notches 10th save against Twins
Paul Sewald recorded his 10th save with a scoreless ninth inning Tuesday against the Twins.

Advice: Sewald gave up a two-out double to Byron Buxton, putting the tying run on base. Ryan Jeffers followed with a stinging liner to left, but it was hit right to Lourdes Gurriel Jr., ending the game. Statcast’s xBA, which only takes into account exit velocity and launch angle, said it had a 94% chance of becoming a hit. Rotoworld Tuesday, 9:17 pm
    • Allows four runs in loss
Suarez (10-2) took the loss against the Tigers on Tuesday, allowing four runs on nine hits and no walks with four strikeouts over six innings.

Advice: Suarez opened with four scoreless innings but ran into trouble in the fifth, allowing four runs on five hits in the frame. He rebounded with a scoreless sixth but departed with a 4-0 deficit. This was just the second time Suarez allowed four earned runs in an outing this season, as he had allowed only four total earned runs in 20.1 June innings prior to Tuesday. The southpaw owns a 2.01 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 99:19 K:BB this season and lines up for another start this weekend, this one against the Marlins. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 8:05 pm
