    • Dodgers activate and option Kyle Hurt on Friday
Dodgers activated RHP Kyle Hurt from the 60-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: The 26-year-old hurler had already been pitching at Triple-A OKC while on a rehab assignment, but he’ll continue to build up there as he continues his recovery from right shoulder inflammation. In order to free up a spot on the club’s 40-man roster, Max Muncy was transferred to the 60-day injured list in a corresponding move on Friday. Rotoworld 1 minute ago

    • Activated from IL, optioned
The Dodgers activated Hurt (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Hurt was originally placed on the 15-day injured list April 20 with right shoulder inflammation, but he was transferred to the 60-day IL one week later. He began his rehab assignment with Oklahoma City on June 6, and over his eight minor-league appearances, he's given up five runs on seven hits and 10 walks while striking out 16 over nine frames. To make room for Hurt on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers transferred Max Muncy (oblique) to the 60-day injured list Friday. Rotowire.com 10 minutes ago

    • Carson Kelly powers Tigers past White Sox on Friday
Carson Kelly walloped a two-run homer off of Erick Fedde in the second inning, powering the Tigers to a 2-1 victory over the White Sox in the opening game of their three-game set at Comerica Park.

Advice: Justyn-Henry Malloy had set the stage with a double into the gap in left-center, then Kelly followed with a 412-foot (103.9 mph EV) blast to left field that gave the Tigers an early 2-0 lead that they would never relinquish. That was the last good swing that the Tigers would have against Erick Fedde and company in the ballgame, but proved to be just enough. Kelly finished the night 1-for-3 and is now slashing .238/.324/.373 with four homers and seven RBI on the year. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago

    • Jason Foley closes out White Sox on Friday night
Jason Foley recorded the final four outs against the White Sox on Friday night, protecting a one-run advantage to earn his 13th save of the season.

Advice: Foley came on with the tying run on base with two outs in the eighth inning and got Andrew Vaughn to ground out to second base. He then returned for the ninth where he plunked Paul DeJong with one out in the inning to bring the go-ahead run to the plate again. Andrew Benintendi then lined out to center field and DeJong forgot how many outs there were, easily getting doubled off of first base to end the ballgame. On the season, Foley now sports a 2.67 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and a 22/9 K/BB ratio (26 1/3 innings) to go along with 12 saves in 14 opportunities. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago

    • Tommy Pham goes deep as White Sox fall to Tigers
Tommy Pham clubbed his fourth home run of the season on Friday night, accounting for the White Sox’ lone run in a loss to the Tigers.

Advice: Pham turned on a first-pitch changeup from Jack Flaherty in the fifth inning and tucked a 370-foot (112.4 mph EV) solo shot just inside the foul pole in left field to get the White Sox on the board and trim their deficit to 2-1. That would be the extent of the scoring in the ballgame. The 36-year-old outfielder finished the night 2-for-4 and is now hitting .282/.353/.410 to go with four long balls and 14 RBI. • Confirmed to start Saturday
Plesac will start Saturday's game against the Dodgers, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Advice: After posting a quality start his Angels debut, Plesac will get another go-around in the rotation as a fill-in for Jose Soriano (abdomen) who's on the 15-day IL. While Plesac only allowed three runs in his first start, he surrendered a pair of home runs and will face a power-heavy Dodgers lineup Saturday. Rotowire.com Today, 5:01 pm
    • Late addition to Friday's lineup
Stefanic is starting at second base and batting eighth in Friday's game against the Dodgers, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Stefanic was inserted into Friday's lineup after Brandon Drury was scratched due to an illness. Since being recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on June 8, Stefanic has played in seven major-league games, going 6-for-22 with four RBI. Rotowire.com Today, 4:58 pm

    • Scratched Friday with illness
Drury was scratched from the Angels' lineup ahead of Friday's game against the Dodgers due to an illness, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Advice: After being scratched from Wednesday's lineup due to an illness, Drury was set to return to action Friday following the team's off day Thursday. The illness appears to have lingered around, however, and Drury will sit out for at least one more game. Michael Stefanic will start at second base and bat eighth against Dodgers right-hander Landon Knack, per Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register. Rotowire.com Today, 4:52 pm

    • Brandon Drury (illness) scratched again on Friday
Brandon Drury was scratched from the Angels’ starting lineup once again on Friday night due to illness.

Advice: Drury was scratched from the team’s lineup on Wednesday due to illness as well. The Angels had been hopeful that he would return to the lineup on Friday night, but he was still feeling a bit under the weather. He’s still considered day-to-day and could return to the lineup as early as Saturday. Rotoworld Today, 4:45 pm
