• Catching in AZL on Saturday
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Friday that Moreno (thumb) will catch five innings in an Arizona Complex League game Saturday, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.

Advice: Moreno was placed on the injured list June 22 due to a sprained left thumb, but Lovullo said earlier in the week that he expects the catcher to return after the minimum 10 days. Barring any setbacks this weekend, Moreno will be eligible to return Tuesday for the beginning of the Diamondbacks' road series against the Dodgers. Rotowire.com Today, 4:26 pm

Giants activated 1B/OF LaMonte Wade Jr. from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: As expected, the 30-year-old slugger will return to start at first base and bat second on Friday night against Landon Knack and the Dodgers. Prior to landing on the injured list in late May with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain, Wade had been hitting .333/.470/.426 with a pair of homers, 17 RBI and one stolen base through his first 166 plate appearances. • Thairo Estrada could be heading to injured list
Thairo Estrada is not in the Giants’ starting lineup for Friday night’s showdown against the Dodgers.

Advice: Unfortunately, it sounds like it could be something more than a routine night off for Estrada and the 28-year-old infielder could be heading to the injured list. Brett Wisely will start in his place and will bat eighth against Landon Knack and the Dodgers on Friday evening in San Francisco. Rotoworld Today, 4:22 pm

  • Not starting Friday
Malloy is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Angels.

Advice: Malloy will begin Friday's contest in the dugout after going 0-for-3 with one strikeout in Thursday's 5-0 loss. Over his last 10 games, he's gone just 2-for-25 with a 40.7 percent strikeout rate. Colt Keith will serve as the designated hitter Friday while Andy Ibanez starts at second base against Angels right-hander Zach Plesac. Rotowire.com Today, 3:32 pm
  • Michael Harris II not cleared to resume running
Michael Harris II (hamstring) has been throwing and taking swings but has yet to be cleared to resume running.

Advice: The dynamic 23-year-old outfielder is making progress in his recovery from a Grade 2 left hamstring strain, but it’s hard to put a clear timetable on a potential return to the Braves’ lineup until he starts running again. Expect Ramon Laureano to continue to see increased playing time in the Braves’ outfield at least through the All-Star break. Rotoworld Today, 3:32 pm
