  • Kenley Jansen locks down four-out save on Saturday
    Kenley Jansen picked up his 11th save of the season on Saturday night, recording the final four outs against the Yankees.

    Advice: Jansen came on to put out a fire in the eighth inning with two men on and two outs with the Red Sox clinging to a two-run advantage. He got Anthony Volpe to fly out to right field to end the threat — then returned to work a perfect ninth inning to close it out. On the season, Jansen now holds a 2.74 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and a 30/11 K/BB ratio (23 innings) to go along with a pair of saves and two victories. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:32 pm
     
  • Marcus Semien drives thee runs in loss to Mariners
    Marcus Semien went 3-for-4 with three RBI in a loss to the Mariners on Saturday.

    Advice: Semien got the Rangers on the board with an RBI double off George Kirby to make it 4-1 Mariners. In the top of the ninth, the star second baseman drove in two more, but the Rangers still trailed 7-5 after that one.   • Ryan Pepiot undone by HRs against Atlanta
    Ryan Pepiot allowed five runs on six hits in 4 2/3 innings against the Braves on Saturday.

    Advice: Pepiot allowed seven hard-hit baseballs on the day and three home runs which accounted for seven runs. The right-hander did produce a 26 percent whiff rate and 26 percent CSW which helped him strike out four. However, he also walked three in what was an uneven effort overall. His first season in Tampa has not gone as smoothly as hoped. While he has flashed upside, he also has a 4.57 ERA but he has a good chance to turn that around next week against the Pirates.   • Brandon Nimmo has two hits, two RBI in win
    Brandon Nimmo went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI in a win over the Padres.

    Advice: Nimmo got the scoring going with an RBI double in the fourth inning and then tacked on an extra run with an RBI single in the eighth. It’s been a tough year for the 31-year-old, but he has two hits in each of the two games against the Padres, so perhaps he can turn it into a much better summer. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:36 pm
     
  • Likely out through All-Star break
    Kelly (shoulder) is expected to be held out through the All-Star break, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports Saturday.

    Advice: Manager Torey Lovullo noted that Kelly hasn't thrown beyond 75 feet yet and is being brought along slowly. The 35-year-old has been sidelined since late April and didn't start a throwing program until June 4.     Triston Casas (rib) was able to take dry swings for the first time on Saturday without any issue.

  • Notches win Friday
    Duran (2-2) allowed a walk over two scoreless innings Friday. He struck out one and earned a win over Oakland.

    Advice: Duran kept the Athletics off the board in the ninth and 10th frames as the Twins eventually delivered the walk-off win. He's 2-0 with a hold over his last three outings since coughing up three runs against the Pirates on June 8. The 26-year-old righty has not picked up a save since June 2.   • Johan Duran secures victory against Athletics
    Jhoan Duran picked up his second victory of the season on Friday evening, working two scoreless innings against the Athletics.

    Advice: Duran came on to work the top half of the ninth inning in a tied game and kept the A’s off the board. He then returned for the 10th inning and retired the side in order, setting the stage for Max Kepler’s heroics.   • Alex Bregman smacks RBI triple in win over Tigers
    Alex Bregman went 1-for-4 and smacked a run-scoring triple on Friday night as the Astros triumphed over the Tigers.

    Advice: Bregman finally got the scoring started in the ballgame with his RBI triple off of Tigers’ start left-hander Tarik Skubal in the sixth inning. He then trotted home on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Yordan Alvarez.
