• Yields five runs in loss
King (5-5) allowed five runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out eight over six innings to take the loss Sunday versus the Brewers.

Advice: King had given up a total of five runs across his previous five outings, but he had just one win in that span despite a 34:9 K:BB over 26.2 innings. He wasn't as good Sunday, as the Brewers pieced together a two-out rally in the second inning that accounted for four of the five runs on his line. King is now at a 3.75 ERA with a 1.29 WHIP and 109:38 K:BB through 93.2 innings over 17 appearances (16 starts) this season. The right-hander is projected to make his next start at Boston. • Picks up save Sunday
Jansen allowed a hit in a scoreless inning to earn a save over the Reds on Sunday.

Advice: Jansen worked around a two-out single to finish off the 7-4 game. It was about as efficient of an outing as it gets, as he threw 11 of his 12 pitches for strikes. He's now converted 15 of his 16 save chances this season, including 11 straight. Jansen has produced a 2.29 ERA since his last blown save April 16, lowering his season mark to 2.39. • Throws eight shutout innings
Lopez (7-6) allowed two hits and one walk while striking out 14 over eight shutout innings to earn the win Sunday over the Athletics.

Advice: Lopez retired the first 17 batters he faced before Lawrence Butler's sixth-inning single. This was Lopez's first scoreless outing of the season as well as his longest start, and the 14 strikeouts were a season high. He'd given up 14 runs over 13 innings across his first three starts in June. Even with this gem, Lopez has a 5.11 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 101:19 K:BB through 88 innings across 16 starts this year. Considering he's posted a career-worst 1.6 HR/9, it's likely a fair amount of his struggles have come from bad luck with the long ball, as the rest of his underlying numbers are in line with his usual level of performance. Lopez is lined up to make his next start at Seattle. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:59 pm
  • Pablo López strikes out 14 in victory over A’s
Pablo López delivered his finest start of the season on Sunday, racking up 14 strikeouts over eight innings of shutout baseball in a victory over the Athletics.

Advice: López allowed just two hits — both of them singles — and one walk on the brilliant afternoon. The 28-year-old hurler bounced back in a huge way after being shelled by the Rays his last time out, looking like the star hurler that we saw dominating on a nightly basis for the Twins during the 2023 campaign. He piled up 19 swings and misses on 102 pitches in the contest — 10 of those on his fastball alone — while posting a CSW of 31 percent. He’ll see if he can build off of this start and further improve upon his 5.11 ERA and 1.17 WHIP when he takes the mound against the Mariners in Seattle on Saturday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:18 pm
  • Michael King tagged for five runs in loss Sunday
Michael King struggled in a losing effort against the Brewers on Sunday afternoon, giving up five runs on nine hits over his six innings of work.

Advice: King helped to salvage his day, at least from a fantasy perspective, by racking up eight strikeouts and issuing just one base on balls. All of the damage done against him came in the second inning, as the Brewers strung together five singles and a triple to push five runs across. He settled in nicely after that and finished his day with four scoreless frames, but it was too late at that point. King got 11 swings and misses on 97 pitches on the day, posting a CSW of 31 percent. The highly inconsistent right-hander will carry a 3.75 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and a 109/38 K/BB ratio (93 2/3 innings) into Saturday’s matchup against the Red Sox in Boston. • Kenley Jansen earns second save in two days
Kenley Jansen earned his second save in two days with a scoreless ninth Sunday against the Reds.

Advice: It’s Jansen’s 15th save of the year and No. 435 in his career. Jansen and Chris Martin both pitched for the second straight day today, so unless the Red Sox are willing to go to one of them three days in a row, Justin Slaten might get the ninth in a save situation Monday. • Placed on injured list
The Marlins placed Garrett on the 15-day injured list Sunday with a left forearm flexor strain.

Advice: The Marlins announced Saturday that Garrett wouldn't start as scheduled Sunday against the Mariners after he reported soreness in his left elbow. After further examination, the team has uncovered a strain in his left forearm, which will cause him to miss a few extra turns through the rotation. Kyle Tyler was recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move to start Sunday's contest. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:26 am
  • Braxton Garrett to IL with flexor tendon strain
Marlins placed LHP Braxton Garrett on the 15-day injured list with a left forearm flexor tendon strain.

Advice: The hits just keep on coming to Miami’s injury-ravaged starting rotation with Garrett becoming the latest to fall victim to the injury bug. The major concern here is that forearm flexor tendon strains are often a precursor to more significant elbow issues, which could wind up leading to surgery. The 26-year-old southpaw will presumably undergo a battery of tests to determine the severity of the issue after experiencing elbow discomfort earlier this week. Barring an unexpected development, fantasy managers shouldn’t anticipate him returning anytime soon. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:13 am
  • Secures 14th save
Jansen earned a a save against the Reds on Saturday, allowing one hit in a scoreless inning.

Advice: Jansen worked around a two-out single to close out his 10th straight successful save. The veteran closer has posted a 22:3 K:BB over 18.2 innings during that span while posting a 2.41 ERA. Jansen continues to get the job done in his 15th MLB season -- he's converted 14 of 15 save opportunities while registering a 2.49 ERA and 1.07 WHIP over 25.1 frames. Rotowire.com Saturday, 10:47 pm
