  • Shohei Ohtani slugs solo homer in win over White Sox
    Shohei Ohtani went 1-for-2 with a solo homer, two walks, and two runs scored in the Dodgers’ 4-0 win over the White Sox on Wednesday.

    Advice: Ohtani took Erick Fedde deep to lead off the first inning, setting a Dodgers record with an RBI in ten straight games. He then drew a walk in the third and scored on a double by Freddie Freeman. Ohtani walked once again in the seventh to reach for the third time. The 29-year-old superstar is slashing .322/.402/.643 with 25 homers, 65 runs scored, 61 RBI, and 16 steals across 360 plate appearances as we reach the midway point of the season.   • Three hits in Wednesday's win
    Diaz went 3-for-4 with two RBI in Wednesday's 7-1 win over the Rockies.

    Advice: The 25-year-old backstop extended his hitting streak to seven games, a stretch in which he's batting .407 (11-for-27) with seven RBI. Diaz has yet to go yard since taking a foul tip off his finger and missing a few games earlier this month, but his current hot stretch has pushed his slash line on the season up to .271/.298/.415 with seven homers, 32 runs and 40 RBI in 69 contests.   • Marcus Semien goes 0-for-5 in loss to Brewers
    Marcus Semien finished 0-for-5 on Wednesday and is in a 4-for-41 slump in his last 10 games.

    Advice: Semien started off well enough in April, but he’s been treading water for about two months now, and particularly unfortunate for fantasy leaguers is that he’s attempted just four steals this season, converting three of them.   • Yainer Diaz tallies three hits, two RBI in win
    Yainer Diaz went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI on Wednesday in the Astros’ win over the Rockies.

    Advice: Diaz opened the scoring with a run-scoring single off Rockies starter Ryan Feltner in the fourth inning before tacking on another RBI single a couple frames later to give Houston a six-run advantage at the time. The 25-year-old backstop got off to a frosty start this season at the dish, but he’s rounded into form of late, batting .351 (20-for-57) with two homers and one steal over his past 15 games.   • Ryan Pepiot strikes out eight on Wednesday vs. Mariners
    Ryan Pepiot recorded eight strikeouts and allowed one run over 5 1/3 innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Mariners.

    Advice: Pepiot carried a shutout into the sixth inning before being lifted from the contest at 88 pitches (54 strikes) after issuing a one-out walk to J.P. Crawford. He wound up being charged with that run when reliever Shawn Armstrong served up a three-run homer to Cal Raleigh later in the frame. The -year-old righty generated 15 swinging strikes, including nine on his four-seam fastball alone, and finished with a respectable 29 percent CSW. It was a nice effort from Pepiot considering he failed to complete five frames in each of his previous two outings.   • Takes seat after poor game Tuesday
    Torres is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Mets.

    Advice: For the second game in a row, Torres was held hitless Tuesday in the Yankees' 9-7 loss, leaving him in a 2-for-29 slump at the dish over his last nine games. To make matters worse, Torres committed an error at second base and also didn't run out a grounder at full speed in the eighth inning, with the latter play not escaping manager Aaron Boone's attention, per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. Boone indicated that Torres is doing OK physically, but the skipper thought a day on the bench could be beneficial for the 27-year-old while he's in the midst of a rough patch.     Gleyber Torres, who complained of groin tightness after Tuesday’s game, is out of Wednesday’s lineup.

    Advice: Pepiot only allowed three runners to reach in a solid showing that was spoiled by his bullpen after he was pulled in the sixth. For the fourth time this season, he struck out eight or more batters in a start. Despite the good strikeout numbers, the 26-year-old struggles to get deep into games as he has yet to pitch past the sixth inning in 14 starts.   • Takes swings in batting cage
    Casas (ribs) took approximately 20 swings in the batting cage Wednesday at about 75-percent effort, Molly Burkhardt of MLB.com reports.

    Advice: Casas resumed hitting for the first time since he was diagnosed with a cartilage tear in his left ribcage in late April. He said he felt great during the workout, but he noted that the real test will be to see how sore he is Thursday. If Casas isn't experiencing too much discomfort Thursday, he could be cleared to start hitting off a tee.
