• Taking seat against lefty
Melendez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.

Advice: Melendez will sit against Cleveland lefty Logan Allen on Sunday, ending a stretch of 11 straight starts during which he posted a .688 OPS. Dairon Blanco will man left field and bat ninth in the series finale. Rotowire.com 51 minutes ago

  • Guardians reinstate Williams (elbow) off 60-day IL
Guardians reinstated RHP Gavin Williams off the 60-day injured list.

Advice: Williams will make his season debut this week against the White Sox after missing the first three months of the season with his elbow trouble. The 24-year-old right-hander is one of the most talented hurlers on the Cleveland roster, and while there may be some rust to clear even after making rehab starts, he is well worth fantasy consideration — especially against a team like the White Sox. • Returns from 60-day IL
The Guardians reinstated Williams (elbow) from the 60-day injured list Sunday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Cleveland designated right-hander Darren McCaughan for assignment and demoted right-hander Triston McKenzie to Triple-A Columbus to clear spots on the 40-man roster, 26-man active roster and in the rotation for Williams, who is poised to make his 2024 debut for the Guardians during the club's three-game series versus the White Sox this week. Williams had been on the shelf all season after injuring his right elbow during a weighted-ball workout in spring training, but he looks to be stretched out for starting duty after covering five and four innings in the final two of his six rehab outings at Triple-A Columbus. After turning in a 3.29 ERA in 16 starts as a rookie in 2023, Williams makes for an appealing pickup in shallower formats where he might still be kicking around on the waiver wire. • Sitting amid slump
Schneider is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees.

Advice: Scheider has a .165/.221/.304 slash line through 25 games in June and will hit the bench Sunday after going 1-for-14 over his past six contests. Daulton Varsho will shift to left field while Kevin Kiermaier receives a start in center. Rotowire.com Today, 7:58 am

  • Another big day at plate
Buxton went 2-for-4 with a double, a homer and four RBI in Saturday's win over Seattle.

Advice: Buxton doubled home Carlos Santana with two outs in the fourth to put Minnesota on top 2-1 and later added a three-run shot in the sixth to extend the lead, giving him his fourth home run in his last five games. The outfielder has also tallied multiple hits in four of his last five, posting 11 RBI and eight runs over that stretch while striking out just one time. Rotowire.com Today, 7:56 am
  • Byron Buxton homers, plates four to sink Mariners
Byron Buxton went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and four RBI on Saturday, powering the Twins to a decisive 5-1 victory over the Mariners.

Advice: Buxton served as Minnesota’s primary offensive catalyst on Saturday night at T-Mobile Park, smacking a tie-breaking RBI double into the left-field corner off Seattle starter Bryce Miller in the fourth inning before walloping a three-run shot - his eighth round-tripper of the year - against reliever Trent Thornton a few frames later. The 30-year-old center fielder got off to an extremely frosty start at the dish this season, but he’s been on fire over the last few weeks, batting .389 (21-for-54) with five homers and two steals over his last 15 games. There will be ebbs and flows with Buxton over the next few months, but he should undoubtedly be rostered in all fantasy formats until further notice. Rotoworld Today, 3:52 am
  • Breaks out of short slump
Jones went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run Saturday against the White Sox.

Advice: Jones entered Saturday's game having collected just one hit across his last 15 at-bats. He ended that short slump with a two-run homer in the fifth inning, his second long ball since returning from the injured list June 14. Jones is still working on finding his rhythm this season after missing around six weeks due to knee and back injuries, but he is now hitting .250 since being activated. Rotowire.com Today, 12:02 am

  • Records save Saturday
Neris earned a save against the Brewers on Saturday, allowing one hit and issuing one walk while striking out two batters over one scoreless inning.

Advice: Neris entered in the ninth inning with Chicago holding a two-run lead and got into a bit of hot water when two of the first three hitters he faced reach base. However, the veteran reliever bounced back to strike out the final two batters of the frame. Neris secured his 11th save of the season and recorded his third straight scoreless outing. That may have helped him steady his grip on the closer role to some extent after he blew two saves and gave up seven earned runs across 2.2 frames over three appearances between June 11 and June 17. • Continues hot streak in win
Guerrero went 3-for-5 with a home run and six RBI in Saturday's 9-3 win over the Yankees.

Advice: Guerrero opened the scoring with a two-run home run off Nestor Cortes in the first inning. He added a three-run double in the eighth and an RBI single in the eighth to finish the day with a whopping six RBI. The first baseman is scorching, having homered in three straight with six consecutive multi-hit efforts. Over those six games, he has driven in a ridiculous 19 runs and is now batting .296 with 13 home runs, 50 RBI and 40 runs scored in 2024. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:16 pm
