• Picks up fourth save
Green notched a save against the Mariners on Saturday, allowing one run on one hit while striking out two batters over 1.1 innings.

Advice: Green was deployed with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning and struck out Cal Raleigh to preserve a two-run Toronto lead. He returned in the ninth frame and worked around a one-out solo shot by Luke Raley to nail down the save. Green has two saves over the past four days and has allowed just three earned runs -- all on solo homers -- over 21 innings since the start of April. However, he could see less closing opportunities with Yimi Garcia nearing a return from an elbow injury. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:26 pm

  • Short start versus Marlins
Crochet allowed two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out five over four innings in a no-decision versus the Marlins.

Advice: Crochet failed to complete five innings for the first time since April 24. He wasn't efficient Saturday, requiring 93 pitches (65 strikes) to get through his four frames, though he did a decent job of limiting the damage. It's a rare misstep for the southpaw, who is now at a 3.08 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 146:23 K:BB over 105.1 innings through 19 starts this season. Crochet is projected to make his next start at home versus the Pirates. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:58 pm

  • Hits first career homer in win
Lee went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 9-3 win over the Astros.

Advice: Lee took Hunter Brown deep in the third inning for his first career major-league home run. The 23-year-old has hit the ground running with the Twins, going 7-for-15 with a home run and six RBI over his first four games. While it is unclear exactly how much time Royce Lewis (groin) will miss, the rookie has made the most of his time in the big-leagues so far. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:13 pm

  • Strikes out eight in win
Ryan (6-5) earned the win against the Astros on Saturday, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk with eight strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Ryan surrendered a run in the third inning and a two-run homer in the fourth while receiving plenty of early run support from his teammates. He generated 15 swinging strikes on 110 pitches and has completed at least five frames in each of his 18 starts this season. On the year, the 28-year-old owns an impressive 3.29 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 118:16 K:BB through 109.1 innings and lines up to face the Giants next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:58 pm

  • Julio Rodríguez will undergo MRI on injured quad
Julio Rodríguez is scheduled to undergo an MRI exam after leaving Saturday’s game against the Blue Jays in the first inning due to discomfort in his lower right quad area.

Advice: The 23-year-old outfielder looked uncomfortable while tracking a fly ball in the outfield during the top half of the first inning, then he was replaced by Ty France before he had a chance to take his first at-bat. The Mariners should have the results of his imaging before Sunday’s game, so expect another update on his status before then. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:38 pm

  • Dealing with quad issue
Rodriguez was removed from Saturday's game against the Blue Jays with discomfort in his lower right quad, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports. Rodriguez will undergo an MRI Saturday night.

Advice: Rodriguez was lifted from the contest in the second inning before making a plate appearance with what we now know was left quad soreness. Saturday's MRI should provide more information on the severity of the injury. The Mariners will close out its series with Toronto on Sunday before having a team off day Monday. • Chad Green allows homer, still gets four-out save
Chad Green allowed a run over 1 1/3 innings to get a save Saturday against the Mariners.

Advice: Green came on to get the final out of the eighth while striking out notorious Blue Jay killer Cal Raleigh. He did allow a solo homer to Luke Raley, but it came with a 5-3 lead. Green has now saved four games, and he should remain the closer in full until Yimi Garcia (elbow) returns. He may keep that role even after Garcia is back if he keeps pitching well. • Garrett Crochet goes four innings in start vs. MIA
Garrett Crochet allows three runs in four innings against the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: Much has been made of Crochet being on a limited pitch count in his first year as a starter, but he likely wouldn’t have gone deep even without said limit. On top of giving up his three runs, he needed 93 pitches to get through those four innings while walking three and striking out five. Crochet has been a heck of a find in 2024, but there’s likely to be an awful lot of three-to-five inning starts in the second half of the campaign. Keep that risk in mind. • Brooks Lee hits first career homer against Astros
Brooks Lee went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer against the Astros on Saturday.

Advice: Lee took Hunter Brown deep in the third inning, giving the Twins a six-run lead early in the game. It was Lee’s first career major league home run in his fourth game for the Twins since he was promoted on July 3. The 23-year-old is off to a good start, going 7-for-14 at the plate with six RBI so far. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:54 pm
