    Advice: Beeks entered the game with the score knotted at 6-6. He delivered his sixth consecutive scoreless appearance, and in that span he has three holds and a win.   • Tosses quality start but takes loss
    Crochet (6-6) took the loss against Houston on Wednesday, allowing three runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out eight batters over six innings.

    Advice: Crochet racked up a hearty 19 whiffs and eight punchouts, but it wasn't enough to keep him out of the loss column in a contest during which he was supported with just one run. The fact that the three earned runs were the most the left-hander has allowed since April 24 speaks volumes about the quality of his campaign thus far. Crochet has tallied six consecutive quality starts and is tied for 10th in the majors with 10 total on the campaign.     Ragans (4-5) allowed two runs on four hits and four walks while striking out seven over six innings to take the loss Wednesday versus the Athletics.

    Advice: Ragans rattled off his fourth straight quality start, but he's still winless over his last five outings. The four walks were a season high for the southpaw, but it was still a decent performance for him despite the end result. He's maintained a 3.13 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 109:30 K:BB through 92 innings over 16 starts this season. Ragans is projected to make his next start at home versus the Marlins in a favorable matchup. Ryan recorded his third straight quality start and his 11th of the season, which is tied for fifth in the majors.     Cole Ragans allowed two runs with seven strikeouts over six innings in a loss to the Athletics on Wednesday.

    Advice: Ragans worked around three hits through two scoreless innings before the A’s brought a pair of runs in to score on two walks and two singles in the third. Ragans settled in to toss three more scoreless innings, striking out seven before his day was done. He took the loss as the Royals scored just one run in the contest.     Gausman (5-6) took the loss to the Red Sox on Wednesday, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits and three walks with four strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

    Advice: Gausman allowed an unearned run in the third inning then surrendered solo home runs in the fourth and fifth. He was pulled after yielding an RBI single with two outs in the sixth and was charged with another run when an inherited runner scored on an RBI single off reliever Tim Mayza. Gausman generated only two swinging strikes on his splitter and has now allowed four or more earned runs in five of his 15 starts this season. The lone tally against him came on a 359-foot solo blast off the bat of Isaac Paredes in the third inning. Ryan generated a whopping 19 swings and misses on 94 pitches in the ballgame — 12 of those on his fastball — while registering a strong CSW of 36 percent. The Astros got to him for three on Wednesday, starting with three hits and a groundout to bring a run across in the third inning. A walk and two hits brought another run in to score in the fourth. After a scoreless fifth, Crochet allowed one more run in on a double and a base hit in the sixth. He still generated 19 whiffs to strike out eight batters.   • Kevin Gausman unsteady in loss to Red Sox
    Kevin Gausman allowed five runs - four earned - in 5 2/3 innings on Wednesday against the Red Sox. He struck out four and walked three en route to a loss.

    Advice: Gausman never looked comfortable in this one. He allowed his first run in the midst of a two-error inning and then labored until being pulled in the sixth inning. He threw far too many fastballs in the heart of the zone and couldn’t get the Red Sox to bite at his splitters.
