• Luis Rengifo diagnosed with left wrist contusion
Luis Rengifo was diagnosed with a left wrist contusion after being hit by a batted ball during Sunday’s contest against the Giants.

Advice: Presumably, he has already undergone imaging that ruled out any fractures, but the announcement from the Angels was simply that he was dealing with a left wrist contusion. It sounds like Rengifo was fortunate to have avoided any more serious injury, but his status should still be monitored over the next few days to be on the safe side. Rotoworld 10 minutes ago

  • Luis Rengifo leaves game with wrist injury Sunday
Luis Rengifo was pulled from Sunday’s game against the Giants after injuring his left wrist in the fourth inning.

Advice: A hard-hit ball off the bat of Matt Chapman deflected off of Rengifo’s wrist at third base and he immediately went down in pain. He’ll head for imaging to see if there’s any damage structurally. The Angels should have an update on the dynamic 27-year-old infielder’s status after the game. Stay tuned. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago

  • Max Scherzer expected to join Rangers’ rotation
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters on Sunday that as long as Max Scherzer bounces back alright following his minor league rehab start on Saturday, that he’ll join the Rangers’ rotation and make his 2024 regular season debut during the upcoming week.

Advice: Scherzer threw 79 pitches (55 strikes) over 4 2/3 innings in his final minor league tune-up at Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday — giving up three runs on four hits and a pair of walks while punching out eight batters. He should slot into the Rangers’ rotation at some point during their weekend series against the Royals. Rotoworld 21 minutes ago

  • William Contreras being evaluated for concussion
Brewers’ manager Pat Murphy said after Sunday’s victory over the Reds that William Contreras is being evaluated for a possible concussion.

Advice: Contreras took a glancing blow off of his head or neck on the final play of the game as Blake Perkins nailed the potential tying run at the plate to end the ballgame. The 26-year-old backstop remained on the ground for a few minutes afterwards, but ultimately was able to get up under his own power and was able to celebrate with his teammates. It doesn’t sound like anything serious, but fantasy managers may want to have an alternative option on hand for next week just to be on the safe side. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago

  • Being evaluated for concussion
Contreras is being evaluated for a concussion following Sunday's 5-4 win over the Reds, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Contreras took a shot to the head when he collided with Stuart Fairchild at home plate, applying the tag for the final out of the contest. The catcher was slow to get up and he'll now undergo some additional testing to determine the severity of the injury. The Brewers will start a three-game series on the road against the Angels on Monday and if he is forced to miss any action, Gary Sanchez would likely take over behind the plate. • Correa hammers three hits, two home runs Sunday
Carlos Correa went 3-for-5 with two home runs, two runs scored, and 3 RBI against the Athletics on Sunday.

Advice: Correa continues his hot streak at the dish. The two home runs give him eight total on the season and his average is up to .306 with an .879 OPS. He’s been as good as a player can be in fantasy without stealing bases.

  • Homers, steals bag in win
Altuve went 2-for-3 with a three-run homer, two runs and a stolen base in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Tigers.

Advice: With two men on and two out in the second inning, Altuve took Kenta Maeda deep for his 11th long ball of the season. He added another hit and when he reached on a walk in the eighth he picked up his 10th stolen base of the campaign. It was Altuve's second home run in his last seven games after a streak of 17 games without a blast. The second baseman's has been hot as of late, hitting .333 in June and for the season he's slashing a healthy .299/.350/.460. Rotowire.com Today, 1:55 pm

  • Fans two in defeat
Luzardo (3-6) took the loss Sunday against Washington, allowing two earned runs on five hits and three walks while striking out two in five innings pitched.

Advice: The two runs charged to Luzardo were both solo home runs -- a first-inning shot by Lane Thomas followed by a fifth-inning blast courtesy of Jacob Young. While he only yielded two earned runs, Luzardo allowed baserunners in all five innings and mustered just two strikeouts. The hard-throwing southpaw has seen a steep drop-off in his strikeout rate compared to last year, plummeting from 10.48 K/9 to 7.83 K/9 this season. Overall, Luzardo has compiled a disappointing 5.00 ERA, a 1.25 WHIP and a 58:22 K:BB across 66.2 innings. He will look to bounce back in his next start, currently scheduled for next weekend versus Seattle. Rotowire.com Today, 1:48 pm

  • Alec Bohm with three more hits Sunday
Alec Bohm went 3-for-4 with a double, walk, and two runs batted in on Sunday against the Orioles.

Advice: April Bohm is back. He had eight hits and five RBI this weekend in Baltimore without striking out as he continues in what’s been a true breakout season for the third basemen. His 57 RBI are second most in the National League, behind only Marcell Ozuna. Rotoworld Today, 1:45 pm
