      Gilbert (4-4) took the win Sunday, allowing two hits and no walks with nine strikeouts over eight scoreless innings against Texas.

      Advice: Gilbert generated 21 whiffs Sunday, punching out eight batters for the fourth time this season while blanking the Rangers. The 27-year-old has now gone deeper than six innings in three straight starts and has walked merely one batter across his last 33.2 innings. He's now tied with Corbin Burnes and Tanner Houck for the league lead with 12 quality starts and paces MLB with 98.1 innings pitched.       Eflin did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and one walk against Atlanta. He struck out seven.

      Advice: Eflin entered the sixth inning with a four-run lead but after retiring the first two batters of the inning, allowed four-consecutive singles, and was removed one-out shy of completing six full innings. The seven strikeouts marked a season high for Eflin, who had failed to record more than three strikeouts during any of his previous five starts. He'll carry a 4.12 ERA and 1.17 WHIP into his next start, currently slated to take place over the weekend when the Rays travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Pirates.       Lively (6-3) took the loss Sunday against Toronto, yielding four earned runs on six hits and three walks in four innings. He struck out four.

      Advice: Lively pitched for the first time in eight days after leaving his most recent start with tightness after 65 pitches. He surrendered a two-run home run to Ernie Clement in the second inning, his first home run allowed since May 26. The four earned runs are a season worst for the 32-year-old, who had notched wins in each of his previous five starts. Despite Sunday's rough outing, Lively has pitched well for Cleveland this season, logging a 3.02 ERA, a 1.19 WHIP and a 52:18 K:BB across 59.2 innings pitched.     • Logan Gilbert dominates Rangers in 5-0 game
      Logan Gilbert allowed two hits and walked none over eight innings in the Mariners’ 5-0 shutout of the Rangers on Sunday.

      Advice: Gilbert recorded 21 whiffs and nine strikeouts in one of the best outings of his still rather young career. He’s 12-for-15 giving the Mariners quality starts this year, which would seem to warrant better than 4-4 record. His 2.93 ERA ranks 15th in the majors, but his 0.92 WHIP places fifth.     • William Contreras being evaluated for concussion
      Brewers’ manager Pat Murphy said after Sunday’s victory over the Reds that William Contreras is being evaluated for a possible concussion.

      Advice: Contreras took a glancing blow off of his head or neck on the final play of the game as Blake Perkins nailed the potential tying run at the plate to end the ballgame. The 26-year-old backstop remained on the ground for a few minutes afterwards, but ultimately was able to get up under his own power and was able to celebrate with his teammates.     • Being evaluated for concussion
      Contreras is being evaluated for a concussion following Sunday's 5-4 win over the Reds, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Contreras took a shot to the head when he collided with Stuart Fairchild at home plate, applying the tag for the final out of the contest. The catcher was slow to get up, and he'll now undergo some additional testing to determine the severity of the injury. The Brewers will start a three-game series on the road against the Angels on Monday. If Contreras is forced to miss any action, Gary Sanchez would likely take over behind the plate.     • Lively gives up four in loss to Blue Jays Sunday
      Ben Lively allowed four runs in four innings and got the loss against the Blue Jays on Sunday.



      Advice: Lively gave up six hits, walked three and struck out four. He had won his last five starts. Lively had allowed two runs through the first four innings. He was removed after walking Spencer Horwitz and Davis Schneider to begin the fifth inning. Both runners scored on Daulton Varsho’s grand slam off Nick Sandlin. Lively isn’t as good as his 3.02 ERA suggests given his 4.15 xFIP. He’s benefited greatly from an 85 percent left on base percentage and that caught it up with him a little bit on Sunday. He’s still been a really good find off the waiver wire for fantasy managers. The 32-year-old right-hander is set to face the Blue Jays at home next week.

      Advice: Eflin continues to flash the brilliance he showed last season while faltering in key moments. He cruised through five innings after a lead-off home run by Jarred Kelenic but unraveled with two outs in the sixth. It’s frustrating to see him fall one out shy of the quality start while the bullpen blew his win despite objectively pitching well against Atlanta. His ERA sits at 4.12 on the season.
