Bassitt (7-7) took the loss against Houston on Thursday, allowing four runs on eight hits and four walks while striking out three batters over five innings.

Advice: Bassitt got off to a terrible start in allowing six of the first seven batters he faced to reach base, resulting in three Astros runs. The veteran hurler bounced back to give up just one more run over the remainder of his five frames, but the first-inning damage was enough to send him to his seventh loss of the season. Bassitt had been rolling coming into Thursday, posting a 1.41 ERA across his previous five starts, and the four runs he yielded against Houston were his most since he gave up seven runs against the Dodgers on April 26. Bassitt's overall numbers this season have been pretty much in line with what fantasy managers have come to expect from him -- he has a 3.43 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 94:41 K:BB across 102.1 frames. Zach Eflin allowed six runs (five earned) in five innings and got the win in the Rays’ 10-8 victory over the Royals on Thursday.



Advice: Eflin gave up seven hits, walked one and struck out three. The win was his fifth of the season. The Royals started scoring with a Michael Massey solo home run in the second inning. Kansas City scored twice in the third inning on a Bobby Witt Jr. sacrifice fly and RBI single by Vinnie Pasquantino. Pasquantino had an RBI groundout in the fifth inning. The sixth inning started with a Richie Palacious error which allowed Michael Massey to reach and Hunter Renfroe chased Eflin with an RBI single. Renfroe ended up scoring later in the inning with the run charged to Eflin. This season has been a nightmare for Eflin drafters as he hasn’t come close to repeating the career year he had last year. The 30-year-old right-hander is set to face the Yankees on the road next week.

Suarez allowed a walk during a scoreless inning of relief Thursday to pick up the save against the Rangers. He struck out one.

Advice: Suarez picked up the save for the second-consecutive day, giving him 22 in 23 opportunities on the season. Suarez has not allowed a run in 32 of his 35 appearances, posting an ERA of 1.02 with a 0.76 WHIP and 33 strikeouts over 35.1 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:59 pm

Sanchez (6-4) suffered the loss Thursday, allowing seven runs on seven hits and three walks over four innings against the Cubs. He struck out three.

Advice: Sanchez' outing began in a familiar manner, allowing no runs through the first three innings while being staked with an early 2-0 lead. But Sanchez, who has done a great job this year at avoiding the big inning, couldn't escape that trap Thursday, allowing six batters to reach base during a five-run fourth, then saw his day end prematurely after the first two batters reached base in the fifth. All told, Sanchez, who was coming off a complete game shutout and had allowed just one earned run over 23 innings during his previous three starts, allowed a season-high seven runs, lifting his season ERA more than half a run from 2.41 to 2.96. Ian Happ went 4-for-4 and hit a pair of three-run homers as the Cubs crushed the Phillies 10-2 on Thursday.

Advice: One of Happ’s remaining hits was a double, giving him 11 total bases in four plate appearances. Unfortunately, he was on deck when the bottom of the eighth ended, denying him a chance to add on. Happ has seven homers in his last 18 games after totaling just six in his first 64.
