    • Dodgers finalize post All-Star break rotation
Gavin Stone will start Friday’s second-half opener against the Red Sox.

Advice: It’ll be rookie Justin Wrobleski and former Red Sox hurler James Paxton taking the ball this weekend at Dodger Stadium. Stone turned in a pair of lackluster outings to close the first half, but has been really impressive this season with a sparkling 3.26 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 76/28 K/BB ratio over 96 2/3 innings (17 starts). • Michael Harris II likely back in August
The Athletic’s David O’Brien reported that Michael Harris II (hamstring) is “likely returning by early August.”

Advice: The 23-year-old was diagnosed with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain on June 15th and is still working his way through baseball activities. Given the length of his absence, he will likely require a rehab assignment as well, which means it might be at least three weeks before Harris returns to the Braves lineup, in the best-case scenario. • Unlikely to return until August
Harris (hamstring) is still at least two or three weeks away from returning from the 10-day injured list, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The center fielder has yet to begin a rehab assignment as he recovers from a hamstring strain that's sidelined him since June 14. Harris was slashing a disappointing .250/.295/.358 prior to the injury, and in his absence, Jarred Kelenic has seized firm hold of the leadoff job. When Harris gets activated from the IL, expect him to hit in the bottom half of the order. Rotowire.com Today, 7:49 am

    • Strong start spoiled
Gilbert tossed seven scoreless innings Sunday against the Angels, allowing just two hits and no walks while striking out nine. He did not factor into the decision.

Advice: Gilbert was magnificent once again and had another strong start wasted by the bullpen. Gilbert exited with a 2-0 lead that vanished in the eighth inning after two walks and a three-run homer by Jo Adell put the Angels in front for good. Sunday was the fifth time this season that Gilbert did not allow a run in a start and his nine strikeouts tied a season high. The 27-year-old will head into the break with a 2.79 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 124:25 K:BB in 132.1 innings. Since he pitched Sunday, Gilbert will not be available to throw in Tuesday's All-Star Game. • Collects three hits, another SB
Robert went 3-for-3 with two walks and a stolen base during Sunday's 9-4 loss to Pittsburgh.

Advice: Despite reaching safely in all five plate appearances, Robert failed to score or drive in a run. However, he swiped his 11th base of 2024, seven of which have come in Robert's last nine games. The 26-year-old enters the All-Star Break with an .804 OPS, 11 home runs, 23 runs and 23 RBI across 179 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:18 pm

    • Fans seven in loss
Lively (8-5) yielded two runs on three hits and two walks over 5.1 innings Sunday, striking out seven and taking a loss against the Rays.

Advice: Lively turned in a strong performance aside from serving up solo homers to Jose Siri and Brandon Lowe. The Rays threw a combined shutout and stuck Lively with the tough-luck loss. His seven punchouts matched a season best, and he's now hit that mark four times in 2024. Lively will begin the second half with a strong 3.58 ERA and 78:25 K:BB through 16 starts. In eight outings since the start of June, he's registered a 4.40 ERA. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:35 pm

    • Logan Gilbert goes seven scoreless in no-decision
Logan Gilbert shut out the Angels for seven innings, striking out nine, in a no-decision Sunday.

Advice: Gilbert allowed just two hits before leaving with a 2-0 lead. Unfortunately, it disappeared immediately in the eighth, as Ryne Stanek hurt himself on a leadoff walk and Austin Voth went on to give up a three-run homer to take a loss. It’s the fifth time this season that Gilbert has gone without allowing a run. He’s a worthy All-Star as he finishes the first half with a 2.79 ERA, but he won’t get to pitch in the game after working today. Rotoworld Sunday, 5:49 pm
    • Lifts 11th homer
Contreras went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Sunday's 9-3 win over the Nationals.

Advice: Contreras went 0-for-10 over his previous three games. He was able to snap the slump in his second at-bat Sunday with his solo shot, which put the Brewers ahead 2-1 in the third inning. The All-Star catcher has had few quiet stretches this year. He's now at a .286/.352/.440 slash line with 11 homers, 55 RBI, 65 runs scored, 23 doubles and five stolen bases over 93 games. • Lifts 15th homer
Happ went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Sunday's 8-3 win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Happ has enjoyed a productive July so far, going 15-for-46 (.326) with four homers and 13 RBI over 13 games. The outfielder is up to 15 homers, 57 RBI, 53 runs scored, 23 doubles and seven stolen bases while slashing .243/.352/.548 through 92 contests. Happ has maintained his starting role in left field even through cold stretches, so there's little risk of him losing playing time once this hot streak ends. Rotowire.com Sunday, 3:55 pm
