    • Chris Taylor homers, drives in two runs in loss
Chris Taylor went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and two RBI on Sunday in the Dodgers’ blowout loss to the Giants.

Advice: Taylor was one of the few bright spots for Los Angeles during Sunday’s one-sided smackdown at the hands of San Francisco, delivering one of this better performances of the season just a few hours after Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters he’ll be given a bit of a runway to make it work at third base moving forward. The struggling 33-year-old veteran went deep off Giants starter Spencer Bivens in the fifth inning before adding a run-scoring double a couple frames later. He’s still a long way off from consideration as a fantasy contributor, even in deeper mixed leagues, but a strong few weeks could be enough to keep him on the roster in Los Angeles heading towards the postseason. • Returns to Triple-A
The Brewers optioned Black to Triple-A Nashville following Sunday's 7-1 win over the Cubs, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The 23-year-old was called up by Milwaukee on June 19 but totaled just 12 at-bats before being sent back to Triple-A. Black is one of the organization's top prospects but doesn't have a clear path to playing time in the big leagues given who the Brewers currently have available, so he'll go back to the minors to get more consistent playing time. • Called up Sunday
The Rangers recalled Ornelas from Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: The 24-year-old will join Texas ahead of Sunday's series finale in Baltimore since Corey Seager (wrist) is banged up. Ornelas will provide infield depth for the Rangers until Seager is ready for action. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:15 pm
    • Justin Turner drives in lone run for Blue Jays
Justin Turner went 1-for-4 with an RBI on Sunday against the Yankees.

Advice: The Jays offense was stifled once again. Turner’s RBI single was their only sign of life and he had three of the team’s six hard-hit balls on the day. The ageless Turner is sporting a respectable .251 average and .734 OPS. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:38 pm

    • Rangers recall INF Jonathan Ornelas
Rangers recalled INF Jonathan Ornelas from Triple-A Round Rock.

Advice: It’ll probably be a quick stint for Ornelas, who is up to give the Rangers some extra infield coverage with Corey Seager banged up. Ornelas was hitting .246/.318/.345 in Triple-A this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:11 pm
    • Taking seat Sunday
Schuemann is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Schuemann has gone 5-for-41 (.122 average) with a 32.1 percent strikeout rate in his past 13 games and will sit for Sunday's series finale in Arizona. Aledmys Diaz will take over at shortstop and bat ninth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:50 pm

    • Goes back on IL
Triple-A Toledo placed Leonard on its 7-day injured list Wednesday with an unspecified injury.

Advice: Leonard was placed on Toledo's IL in early April with an oblique strain and missed just under two months of action before returning to the Triple-A lineup June 4. However, he appeared in just 16 games for Toledo before getting shut down again with a new injury. Leonard -- who possesses a spot on the Tigers' 40-man roster -- is without a clear timeline for a return from the IL. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:39 pm
    • On cusp of rehab assignment
Baez (back) is expected to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo on Monday, Joe Reedy of the Associated Press reports.

Advice: Manager A.J. Hinch had previously said June 25 that Baez wasn't on track to return from the 10-day injured list before the Tigers' ongoing road trip concludes July 7, but the veteran shortstop looks like he could be an option to play during the final week before the All-Star break. The Tigers will likely wait and see how Baez responds to at least a few rehab games with Toledo this week before determining his next steps. Baez had produced a career-worst .456 OPS over 196 plate appearances before being placed on the IL on June 11 with lumbar spine inflammation. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:34 pm

    • Remaining out of lineup
Drury (illness) is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Drury hasn't seen the field since June 21 due to an upper-respiratory illness, and he won't return to the lineup for Sunday's series finale versus Detroit. According to Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com, Drury is avialable off the bench Sunday and should return to the starting nine Tuesday in Oakland. Luis Rengifo will again man the keystone while Miguel Sano starts at third base. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:26 pm
