    • Out against righty again
Stewart is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Yankees.

Advice: The Mets have faced two right-handers since Starling Marte (knee) went on the 10-day injured list and the left-handed hitting Stewart hasn't started either one of them, as the club has gone with Tyrone Taylor in right field for both contests. While Stewart does still figure to get his fair share of reps in the outfield while Marte is out, it's clear manager Carlos Mendoza is not planning to use a strict platoon in right field. • Sent outright to Triple-A
The Mets outrighted Hudson to Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Hudson cleared waivers after being designated for assignment and will remain in the organization. He didn't receive a plate appearance during his brief time with the Mets. Rotowire.com 11 minutes ago

    • Sitting amid slump
Rosario is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Rosario typically hits the bench against left-handed pitching, but he'll take a seat Wednesday while a righty (Dylan Cease) toes the rubber for the Padres. Despite seeing limited exposure to same-handed pitching, Rosario has fallen into a slump at the plate lately, going 6-for-41 while failing to draw a walk in any of his last 12 games. The Nationals added another option at designated hitter to the roster Tuesday in Harold Ramirez, who is in the lineup Wednesday and could challenge Rosario for the top spot on the depth chart. • Another live BP set
Santos (lat) is set to throw another live batting practice Friday in Seattle and could begin a rehab assignment shortly thereafter, MLB.com reports.

Advice: The right-hander put together a very encouraging live BP on Saturday in Miami before that day's game against the Marlins, using his sinker/slider combo with great effectiveness and impressive velocity against Ryan Bliss and Tyler Locklear in a 10-pitch session. If Santos encounters similar success Friday, it appears he'll be ticketed for what should be a fairly lengthy rehab assignment, given he's been sidelined since spring training. • Guardians recall Jhonkensy Noel to make MLB debut
Guardians recalled OF Jhonkensy Noel from Triple-A Columbus.

Advice: Noel had an 1.156 OPS for Columbus this month, putting him at .295/.359/.578 with 18 homers for the season. It’s unclear how much of a role the Guardians will carve out for him versus righties, but he should definitely be the right fielder against lefties. He struggled to hit for average in previous years, and he’s a zero when it comes to steals, so he’ll need to keep showing plenty of power in order to be useful in fantasy leagues. • Receiving breather Wednesday
Ruiz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.

Advice: Ruiz will rest up after he started at catcher in each of the Nationals' last four games while going 3-for-13 with a pair of doubles and walks. Drew Millas will get the nod behind the dish in Ruiz's stead. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago
    • Guardians return Johnathan Rodriguez to Triple-A
Guardians optioned OF Johnathan Rodriguez to Triple-A Columbus.

Advice: Jhonkensy Noel has been red hot in Triple-A, so the Guardians are going to give him a chance now, even though they deemed Rodriguez the better option 11 days ago and he’d since reached five times and driven in two runs in his four starts. It’s a tough break for the 24-year-old. Rotoworld 18 minutes ago
    • Cruises through latest rehab start
Gray (elbow) struck out four and allowed one run on four hits and zero walks over six innings in his rehab start Tuesday with Triple-A Rochester.

Advice: Gray held Indianapolis scoreless through five frames before letting in a run in the sixth, but the right-hander still delivered the lengthiest and best of his four rehab starts since starting his minor-league assignment June 9. He covered 73 pitches in Tuesday's outing, a workload that should put him in line to handle a traditional starter's role when he returns from the 15-day injured list. Gray appears likely to rejoin the Washington rotation Monday or Tuesday against the Mets, as the Nationals are listing Patrick Corbin as the starter for Sunday's series finale in Tampa Bay, per Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com. • Summoned to big leagues
The Guardians recalled Noel from Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday.

Advice: It's the first big-league promotion for the 22-year-old. Noel has slashed .295/.359/.578 with 18 home runs over 65 games with Columbus this season. Much of that production has come since the start of May, with Noel producing a .343/.404/.651 line with 14 homers in 43 contests over that stretch. Noel has also struck out at just an 18.1 percent rate since May 1, which is big for a guy who has often struggled to make contact. While he can handle first base and the corner outfield spots in a pinch, Noel's best shot at playing time in Cleveland figures to be at designated hitter. Rotowire.com 23 minutes ago
