      Civale (2-5) took the loss Friday, giving up four runs on seven hits and a walk over five innings as the Rays fell 6-3 to the Orioles. He struck out eight.

      Advice: The right-hander got taken deep by Anthony Santander in the second inning and Ryan Mountcastle in the fifth, just the second time this season Civale has served up multiple homers. The eight strikeouts did tie his season high, helping to salvage some fantasy value, but he's gone 10 straight starts without recording a win, going 0-4 over that stretch with a 6.66 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 50:15 K:BB through 50 innings.     • Chris Bassitt masterful Friday in Bay Area return
      Chris Bassitt struck out seven and allowed one run over eight innings on Friday in a no-decision against the Atletics.

      Advice: Bassit was forced to settle for a no-decision against his former organization in an impressive outing at pitcher-friendly Oakland Coliseum. He gave up only four hits and a pair of walks with a run-scoring ground out from JJ Bleday in the sixth-inning representing the lone tally against him in this one. He generated 15 swinging strikes and finished with a 29 percent CSW. It was a performance that should’ve resulted in a victory, but Toronto’s lineup was only able to muster one run on five hits in a low-scoring tractor pull.     • Brandon Pfaadt wears it on Friday vs. Padres
      Brandon Pfaadt was lit up for five runs over 5 1/3 innings on Friday in a loss to the Padres.

      Advice: Pfaadt, who allowed nine hits (including three home runs) and teammate Humberto Castellanos were each tagged for five runs as they soaked up nearly a complete game to spare Arizona’s overworked bullpen, which frankly needed a break after some heavy usage earlier this week. He struck out five and only handed out one free pass. He’ll bring an inflated 4.60 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 76/15 K/BB ratio across 78 1/3 innings (13 starts) into tasty matchup on Thursday against the Angels at Chase Field. Rotoworld Today, 3:18 am

      Pfaadt (2-5) allowed five runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out five over 5.1 innings to take the loss versus the Padres on Friday.

      Advice: Even in pitcher-friendly Petco Park, Pfaadt was tagged for a season-high three home runs. He gave up back-to-back solo shots to Fernando Tatis and Jurickson Profar in the first inning and also yielded a two-run blast to Ha-Seong Kim in the sixth. This was the third start in a row where Pfaadt has given up four or more runs. He's now at a 4.60 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 76:15 K:BB through 78.1 innings across 13 starts.       Advice: This was Merrill's first steal since May 14. Over the 20 contests between thefts, he hit a meager .224 (15-for-67) with no walks and just one extra-base hit. The 21-year-old is still at a respectable .268/.303/.344 slash line with three home runs, 22 RBI, 24 runs scored and eight steals over 63 contests this year. Merrill has been benched against some left-handed pitchers recently, but he should have no trouble maintaining a majority of the playing time in center field over Jose Azocar.       Campusano went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and one run scored in Friday's 10-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: Campusano entered Friday just 1-for-29 with four walks and five strikeouts over his previous 12 contests. He finally made some good contact, which included an RBI single in the eighth inning as well as a double, which was his first extra-base hit since May 19. The catcher's slump left a mark on his season-long numbers -- he's now at a .234/.284/.359 slash line with four home runs, 27 RBI, 23 runs scored, 11 doubles and no stolen bases over 57 games.
