• Moves rehab to Triple-A
Foscue (oblique) was transferred to Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday to continue his rehab assignment.

Advice: Foscue went 7-for-17 with one home run in six games with the Rangers' Arizona Complex League affiliate after missing two months with a left oblique strain. He could be ready for activation soon, but Foscue isn't a given to rejoin the major-league roster at that time. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:02 pm

  • Sitting out Thursday
Toro (shoulder) is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Royals.

Advice: Toro will miss out on a third consecutive start while he recovers from a sore shoulder, an injury that first cropped up in the Athletics' doubleheader with the Twins on Sunday. Aledmys Diaz will fill in at third base Thursday for Toro, who is considered day-to-day. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:55 am

  • Resting against lefty
Biggio is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: Biggio will join fellow left-handed hitters Gavin Lux and Jason Heyward on the bench for the series finale in Colorado while the Rockies send southpaw Ty Blach to the hill. Enrique Hernandez will enter the lineup at third base as Biggio's replacement. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:39 am

  • Begins hitting progression
Hernaiz (ankle) has begun a hitting progression, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Hernaiz was able to shed his walking boot in the first half of June, and he's now graduated to baseball work from the strength and fitness program. The infielder will likely progress to full baseball activities after the hitting progression before eventually embarking on what could be a fairly robust rehab assignment. • Full game at DH
Polanco (hamstring) took a full game's worth of plate appearances as the designated hitter in Triple-A Tacoma's win over Las Vegas on Wednesday, going 1-for-4 with a walk and a run.

Advice: Polanco's ability to play in back-to-back games for the second time in his rehab assignment appears to bode well for his chances of imminent activation. The veteran infielder already logged seven innings on defense Tuesday, so there may be nothing left to prove for Polanco in terms of the fitness of his previously ailing hamstring. • Out of Thursday's lineup
Walls is out of the lineup for Thursday's contest in Minnesota, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Walls started six of eight games at shortstop after returning from the injured list June 7 but has now been in the lineup just once over the last five tilts, though he was battling an illness for some of that time. Jose Caballero will cover shortstop Thursday in Walls' stead. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:11 am

  • Tyler Locklear starting at 1B on Thursday
Tyler Locklear is playing first base for the Mariners on Thursday.

Advice: With the Mariners facing left-hander Logan Allen, Locklear will play first base and Ty France will be at designated hitter with Luke Raley sliding to the bench. The Mariners kept Locklear on the roster with France being activated, so it appears Locklear will be in the starting lineup against left-handed pitchers moving forward. The Mariners will also start Victor Robles in left field and Ryan Bliss at second base with Dominic Canzone and Josh Rojas moving to the bench against a lefty. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:07 am

  • Sitting against southpaw
Rojas is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Guardians.

Advice: With lefty Logan Allen on the hill for Cleveland, Rojas and fellow left-handed-hitting regulars Dominic Canzone and Luke Raley will retreat to the bench. Dylan Moore will move over from his usual spot at second base to cover the hot corner in Rojas' stead. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:53 am

  • Abraham Toro (shoulder) not in lineup Wednesday
Abraham Toro (shoulder) is not in the Athletics’ starting lineup on Wednesday.

Advice: Toro has apparently been battling a sore shoulder since Sunday’s doubleheader. The Athletics are hopeful that he’ll be able to avoid a stint on the injured list, but if this goes on for another couple of days they may need to change their stance. Tyler Nevin will start in his place at the hot corner and will bat fifth for the A’s against Cole Ragans and the Royals on Wednesday evening. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:15 pm
