      Advice: Soderstrom has homered in back-to-back games, giving him three long balls this season. He's also hit safely in five of his last six contests, going 6-for-17 (.353) in that span. The 22-year-old had struggled to get anything going earlier in the season, but he's now at a .222/.347/.413 slash line with three homers, eight RBI and five runs scored over 75 plate appearances. He appears to have leapfrogged J.D. Davis for the starting role at first base, though Soderstrom would still have the advantage if it ultimately becomes a platoon situation.       Tyler Soderstrom went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk versus the Padres on Tuesday.

      Advice: Soderstrom has homered in back-to-back games, raising his OPS from .622 to .760, and tonight’s tied the game in the eighth inning. Now that the A’s seem to have committed to Soderstrom at first base against righties, he’s of some interest in leagues in which he qualifies at catcher. He doesn’t yet in traditional leagues, as he spent more time at DH than anywhere else in 45-game stint with the A’s last year.       Jake Cronenworth homered, doubled and scored twice as the Padres topped the A’s 6-1 on Monday.

      Advice: Cronenworth has two homers in three games after going his previous 19 games without one. His exit velocity numbers have trended downwards after a surprisingly hot start in April, but he’s still performing better than his decline the previous two seasons indicated he would; he’s back up to .267/.331/.463 after tonight.       Soderstrom went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a loss to the Padres on Monday.

      Advice: Soderstrom gave Oakland an early lead with a solo homer in the second inning, but that was the only run the team ended up generating. The long ball was Soderstrom's first since his first game of the campaign, which took place May 8 against Texas. He's struggled to a .200 batting average with just six RBI over 71 plate appearances on the campaign, though his 14.1 percent walk rate has kept his OBP at a respectable .324.       Advice: Burleson is up to nine homers this year, four of which he's hit over nine contests in June. He's batting .237 (9-for-38) this month, but that slight drop in hitting has yet to cost him the everyday role he earned with a strong May. The outfielder is slashing .273/.305/.448 with 24 RBI, 20 runs scored, two stolen bases and seven doubles over 203 plate appearances on the year, and he's routinely batted second in the order over the last week.       Jake Cronenworth drove in four runs while homering in a 13-1 rout of the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

      Advice: Cronenworth annihilated a Logan Allen pitch in the fourth inning to extend the Padres’ lead to 7-0. The infielder also singled home a run an inning later to give him his fourth RBI of the game and 44th of the season.
